It is with a heavy heart that I share with you all that I have recently resigned from my position here at Amy Hurd.

I joined the team here way back in April 2004 as a fresh faced 20-year-old, ready to take on this exciting chapter of my life with a brand-new diploma tucked under my arm. Throughout the past 22 years I have had the absolute honour of working alongside some incredible educators and with beautiful families. The children that I have met along the way will always hold such a special place in my heart, and I remember each and every one of them. Seeing some of them come back as older teens/young adults for work experience/university placements and even bring THEIR children in for care has been an absolute highlight, (even if it did make me feel exceptionally old!).

I have grown and experienced so many of my life’s milestones during my time here at Amy Hurd, and closing this chapter will be such a difficult moment. However, the time has come to say goodbye and explore new things.

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to you all, allowing me to play such an important role in such special little lives, has been an absolute privilege.

I will have my last day on Wednesday 27th May 2026. So plenty of time for lots of hugs (I’ll keep some stored up in my pockets for when I need them 😊)
Miss you all already xx

Love and sunshine,
Katie xx
