We have a few too many books in our collection, so we’re giving our members the chance to take some home and give them a new life!

Don’t have a costume at home? No problem! We’ve set up a selection of Playgroup dress-ups that children are welcome to use during their session. Just choose a character, get into the imagination and have some fun! ✨

🔬🌱 National Science Week at Lake Albert Playgroup! 🧪✨

This week is National Science Week, running from 15–23 August, and we’re celebrating the little scientists in our lives! 💛

The 2026 theme is “Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all” - celebrating curiosity, asking questions, exploring ideas and discovering how the world around us works. 🌱🔎

At Playgroup, science can be as simple as wondering why something floats, watching colours mix, exploring textures, building something that works (or doesn’t!), or simply asking “why?” for the hundredth time! 😂

🌱 Select Playgroup sessions this week will have some Science Week inspired activities available, giving little ones the chance to explore, experiment and get curious through play.

📚 Library Van Update
We’ve made a small change to our library van visits! The library van will now visit Lake Albert Playgroup on the 2nd Monday of every month, giving families a regular date to look forward to.

📖 It’s a great opportunity for little ones to explore some new books and for families to make the most of this wonderful local service.

💛 No bookings are required and there’s no need to arrive right on time or stay for the whole session. Come when it suits your family and make Playgroup work around your day.

Those small moments often grow into lasting friendships and a community that celebrates the highs, supports each other through the challenges, and reminds us that we're never doing this parenting journey alone.

Unfortunately, Babies Group won't be running tomorrow as we don't have a volunteer Day Leader available during the school holidays.

If you're a regular attendee of our Babies Group and have ever thought about becoming a Day Leader, we'd love to hear from you. Even helping out every now and then can make a big difference and helps keep this special group running for our families. 🍼✨
