we are completely booked out at the service on the following days:
Monday 29th September
Wednesday 1st October
Tuesday 7th October
Thursday 9th October

This means we have reached our capacity and we can not have any more bookings in for these days

Dear Families,
As Vacation Care is fast approaching, we would like to take this opportunity to remind families of a few important updates and requirements to ensure the program runs smoothly and safely for all children.

New Guidelines
• Phones: In line with school policy, mobile phones are not permitted during Vacation Care. This is to minimise issues that have arisen around appropriate use.
• iPads: Children are welcome to bring iPads, however:
o Devices must not have internet access enabled.
o Chargers are not to be brought in, as we are unable to charge devices during the day.

Food Reminders
• If children are bringing instant noodles, please ensure these are in cup form, not packets, to reduce risks when handling hot water.
• On excursion days, please DO NOT pack noodles as we often eat lunch while out, and return to the service too late for preparation.

What Children Need Each Day
• A brimmed hat (as the weather is warming up)
• A water bottle
• Recess and lunch
• Personal sunscreen (if your child has allergies or sensitive skin)
• A change of clothes if prone to accidents
• Appropriate footwear (sneakers or enclosed shoes – no wheelies)
• Helmets for those bringing bikes, scooters, or roller skates
⚠️ Please note: remote-control cars are not permitted.
For excursions, children must arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to allow for roll call and headcounts.

Movie Excursions
Children attending movie excursions are welcome to bring their own popcorn or snacks from home, as we do not access kiosk facilities.

What is Included in Vacation Care
• Sunscreen (unless families supply their own)
• Breakfast, afternoon tea, and a late snack
• Fun and engaging cooking and craft activities
• A range of excursions and incursions

Daily Roll Call and Group Discussion
Each excursion day, a roll call will take place 30 minutes before departure. During this time, Nisha (Director) will meet with the children to:
• Discuss OSHC rules and expectations
• Provide space for children to share feedback and feelings
• Revisit important topics such as safe play, personal space, respectful communication, snake safety, and SunSmart practices
• Outline excursion details and sign-out procedures

The excursion is booked out but we still have room for children to be booked into service to stay back from the excursion

Dear Families,
I hope this message finds you well.
Yesterday i emailed out our annual OSHC survey. Your feedback is very important to us—it helps us reflect on our practice, celebrate what we are doing well, and identify areas where we can continue to grow. We greatly value both constructive feedback and positive comments.
We understand that evenings can be a busy time for families, so instead of completing the survey during pick-up, we kindly ask that you take a moment to complete and return it at your convenience. Hard copies are also available on the OSHC desk should you prefer.

If you did not get an email from me yesterday please let me know

A few reminders about how we share information and communicate with families:
• Facebook: You can follow us at Virginia Primary School OSHC for updates, photos, and videos (only of children with signed permission).
• ClassDojo: Another key platform we use for communication. If you are not connected, please let me know so I can add you.
• OSHC Display Walls: Located inside the service, these contain important information about our policies, procedures, regulations, and programming.
• Programming Folders: Children with permanent bookings have individual folders that families are welcome to view at any time.
• OSHC Slideshow: A rotating display of photos showcasing children’s experiences and learning at OSHC.
In addition, each week we run a cooking activity linked to our term theme, as well as daily sports and group games. Our newsletters also provide regular updates and important information.
If you have any questions at any time, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am always happy to assist and provide clarification.
