🚫 Squishies are no longer allowed at school

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to remind families that Squishies are no longer permitted at school.

This decision has been made due to concerns about the potential exposure of students to unknown chemicals and toxins, as well as the risk of Squishies bursting or leaking.

As we do not know what chemicals may be used in these products, we want to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our students.

If students bring Squishies to school, they will be confiscated and can be collected at the end of the school day by a parent or carer.

We appreciate your support in helping us keep our school environment safe for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. 💙

You can read more about Squishies from the ACCC here

This year marks a very special milestone for our school, as we celebrate 150 years of education and community at Virginia Primary School and the opening of our new school building.

On Friday, 4 December 2026, we will hold our 150 Years Strong Celebration: Honouring Our Past – Celebrating Our Present – Building Our Future.

The event will bring together our 150th anniversary, the official opening of our new building and our annual whole school concert. We are looking forward to welcoming current and former students, families, staff, community members and invited dignitaries to celebrate with us.

Self-guided tours will be available from 3.45pm where families are invited to tour our new building facilities and visit the memorabilia and memories of our 150 year anniversary with curated displays. From 5.00pm formalities will begin to officially open our new building and from 6.00pm our school concert will take place on the soccer oval.

Closer to the special event we will share with families concert details and programs (performance schedule, food vans, entertainment & parent information).

We look forward to your attendance and celebrating this special event with you all!
