This week is School Support Recognition Week, and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to our amazing support staff!

Our school wouldn’t run smoothly without them. They help teachers do their best, support our students, and make sure everything behind the scenes works perfectly.

We appreciate everything they do for our school community. Today we celebrate our support staff!

Our VHS mountain bikers took on the challenge at the Stromlo Mountainbike Park in Canberra, competing against 600 students with true spirit and determination!

Highlights:
🌟 Our College girls team proudly claimed 3rd place, showcasing incredible grit and athletic stamina on the tough Louge course.
🌟 A heartfelt thank you to parents Nicole S, Shane C, Matthew and Simone A, Ryan W, and Greg W for their invaluable support with bike packing, mechanics, and cheering on our riders.
🌟 Special milestone for our Year 12 students – Hazel R, Jesse W, George S, Finlay B, and Kaleb L – who've been dedicated MTB Club members since Year 7. Their farewell speeches reflected the strong bonds and connections made within our school community.
🌟 Huge thanks to Mr Raftery, Mr Roberts, Mr Fulginiti, Ms Oliver, and Ms Boyce for organising and supporting the team.

👏 Congratulations to all our mountain bikers – you are a true credit to VHS!

Run Beyond Achievements Update!

Shoutout to these legends: Patrick, Dylan, Jax, Iris, Tiana, and Alice who have been:
Training up to 3 times a week, building fitness and mental strength,
setting personal challenges and overcoming adversity and self-doubt

Together, we travelled to Sydney for an inspiring conference at the prestigious W Hotel, Darling Harbour. There, we heard from Emma McKeon — Australia’s highest-ever Olympic medal winner — who shared powerful tips on grit, hard work, and digging deep when times get tough.

Then, on Saturday, our Run Beyond team rose up to success by achieving their Personal Bests at the massive Sydney Marathon 5km event, running alongside 50,000 runners from around the world! They ran past iconic landmarks like the Harbour Bridge, Botanic Gardens, and Opera House to achieve glory.

Now, continuing their journey, we’re looking for more runners to join our team and take on a new challenge at the Huskisson Run Festival on 31st October.

If you have grit, determination, and want to push yourself, come and meet Ms South and Lea Kyle from Walawaani to join the team!
