Faith Lutheran Kindergarten, based at Victoria Point is an established 2 unit Sessional Kindergarten. We offer a play-based curriculum to children the year before entering Prep. We are a well-resourced Service and sit within an inviting, natural play environment.

What a busy term we’ve had so far at Faith Lutheran Kindergarten. We’ve engaged in so many learning experiences and, as always, we’ve been having a heap of fun. Some things we’ve done so far this term are:-
- we welcomed our beautiful mothers to Kindy to celebrate them for Mother’s Day,
- we had the Henny Penny hatching program visit us to help us learn about life cycles,
- we have been learning about all of the amazing things God made including light, Earth and everything in Space, the land (check out our amazing volcanoes below), plants and animals,
- we participated in Under 8’s day at the school; and
- we joined over 2 million other children in the National Simultaneous Storytime as we listened to Josh Pyke read his story ‘Family Tree’ live on Facebook.

There has been a lot of construction work happening at Faith Lutheran Kindergarten over the holidays.

The damaged fort was safely demolished and removed. We can now look forward to the exciting process of designing and building a new fort.

We also had a new shade sail constructed over the sand pit area. It looks fantastic.

Can’t wait to see everyone back at Kindy for Term 2.

Last week at Faith Lutheran Kindergarten we celebrated the end of Term 1 with some very special visitors. We welcomed our Grandparents and other special family members to Kindy for a play. It was so much fun engaging in different activities with them and we also enjoyed singing some of our favourite songs. Truly beautiful connections and relationships.

Over the last couple of weeks the children at Faith Lutheran Kindergarten have been showing an interest in animals. Some of our Kindy friends have brought in creatures and pets they have at home to show us all; including a caterpillar, a lizard and some chicks. Our Kindy bees have also sparked lots of curiosity. Through research, the children have learnt interesting facts about the animals such as where they live, what they eat and their life cycle. They have also drawn and painted their interpretations of the creatures to display around the classroom.

We were so excited to be able to have the children return to Faith Kindy today. Of course, the main topic of discussion was the recent rain, storms and floods; as well as the destruction of our fort. To help the children process what has been going on around them, we read a story on the screen called ‘Birdie and the Flood’. The story was a great way for the children to have the opportunity to discuss feelings that they may have had as the weather event was happening; such as fear, uncertainty, anxiousness etc. It also presented the idea that we can be resilient and keep going after something bad happens.

The staff from Faith Kindy would like to say a big thank you for all the support and kind words from everyone after our playground was damaged in the recent weather event. We are grateful and blessed to be part of such a caring community.

Today, the work began on removing the fallen tree from the playground. The tree loppers were busy all day with their machines and tools cutting up the tree, mulching it and lifting large pieces of the trunk safely out of the yard. It was a great start to repairing the play space.
