A little reminder for our Sparrow families!

We’re getting closer to moving over to Xap, our new childcare management platform.

From 28 September, you’ll be using Xap to stay connected with your Sparrow service, manage your family details, access invoices and statements, and keep up with updates from your team.

If you haven’t set up your Xap Guardian Web Portal yet, now’s a good time to get it sorted!

If you have any questions or need a hand, your Sparrow team is here to help.

A conversation can challenge the way we think. It can raise something we hadn't noticed. It can help us understand a different perspective.

But what happens next matters.

What can we change?
What support is needed?
Who needs to be involved?
What can we do differently?

This is where conversation becomes action.

And you don't need to have all the answers to start. Sometimes the most important thing you can say is:
“I'm not sure. Can we talk about it?”

Because a child-safe culture isn't built through one conversation. It's built through the conversations we keep having, and the action we take because of them.

10/09/2026

Child safety conversations don't always look the way we expect.

Sometimes they're started by a question. Sometimes a change in behaviour. Sometimes it's an educator noticing that something feels different.

Our job is to notice, listen and make space for those conversations.

09/09/2026

Whether you’re an educator showing up for children every day, or a parent juggling everything that comes with family life, it’s easy to put yourself last.

This R U OK? Day, let’s check in with the people who are always caring for someone else.

Sometimes, a simple “Are you okay?” is exactly what someone needs to hear. 💛

"Community" means something different when you're four years old.
It's not a big word. It's a friendly wave. A favourite librarian. A walk to the local park. The excitement of choosing a dinosaur book to take home.

These moments may seem small, but they're how children begin to understand where they belong.

By connecting with the people and places around us, children build confidence, curiosity and lasting relationships with the communities they call home. That's why community connections are such an important part of life at Sparrow. 💛

There’s a lot that happens at Sparrow that you don’t always see, and safeguarding is a big part of that.

It’s the quiet observations. The check ins between educators. The careful documentation. The conversations that happen behind the scenes to make sure every child is safe, supported and heard.

It’s constant, intentional and always centred on children.
