I have been an educator since 2016 and hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I am registered with the Department for Education, Family Day Care. In 2020, I was named the Educator of the Year - Regional Winner for Adelaide, in Family Day Care Australia's 'Excellence in Family Day Care' Awards. I have current certificates in child protection and a current First Aid Certificate includ
ing CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training. I have experience working as a nanny, babysitting and working and volunteering in childcare centres. I believe that each child has a right to feel safe, secure and supported. They have a right to healthy
self-esteem, a strong sense of belonging, positive, meaningful relationships and the right to learn within this sense. Each child is entitled to stimulating and fun indoor and outdoor learning environments and a variety of learning experiences, as guided by the 'Early Years Learning Framework' and 'My Time, Our Place Framework For School Aged Care'. Each child deserves to choose their own unique learning path and learn at their own pace with the support of others. Everything I do at my service reflects the best interests of your child and the other children in my care. Your child will be given assistance in learning the boundaries and rules that apply whilst in my care. I will guide your child towards positive behaviour using an encouraging, understanding and supportive approach. Your child’s positive behaviour and efforts will be acknowledged and attention given to their processes. I will role model appropriate behaviour and treatment of others and discuss the importance of this with your child. I will provide your child with clear, simple instructions and be transparent in my expectations of them. I will address your child’s underlying need rather than their possible undesirable behaviour. Children are encouraged to act with kindness and are reminded to be thoughtful to others in their interactions. They are taught skills of independence and respect and understand the importance of working together. Consistency between your child’s home and care environments is vital in guiding their behaviour, so working in partnership with you on this is fundamental. Communication, openness and honesty are encouraged and I will always listen and ask questions when necessary. Discussion of any feedback or concerns is important to support your child. I look forward to working in partnership with you and your family to provide the best possible care for your child.
