Sharing original song “Carry the Banner" composed by Jen de Ness. Inspired by my mum, Joan Eveline's book "Carrying the Banner" (Joan Eveline and Lorraine Hayden editors) Published by UWA Press.

Sung live by this amazing group of 22 women including Susan King Christine Morrison Francesca Abbonizio Joanne Russell Leena Mitra Margot Boetcher Jen de Ness Music Charlotte Fehr Kath Mazzella Joan Eveline at the CD launch of Voicedance Singers CD. A Culmination of 18 months of Jen de Ness Women's vocal and movement workshops and singing classes evolving from Jen's first UWA Extension course and courses facilitated by Jen incorporating pre-performance techniques, vocal chakra toning, chanting, original songs and performances. Songs from the CD were written by Jen and arranged especially for the group by Jen de Ness and Bill Atkinson on guitar.

The Victa Cinema is set to host the Rise ‘N Shine CD launch on 9 November 2021, in celebration of the work completed during the Rise ‘N Shine project.

Professional musicians Jen de Ness Music and Bill Atkinson will open the event with a short set of uplifting songs before Rise ‘N Shine singers join to the launch their much-anticipated single!

The Rise ’N Shine project was directed by accomplished singer/songwriter/performer/teacher and choir director Jen de Ness. Under Jen’s direction, members of the community met for a number of weeks to hone their vocal and pre-performance skills, whilst developing confidence, courage and camaraderie for a group recording/performance. As part of the project, a professional recording was created by Ocean Studios' Recording Engineer/Musician (Ex-ABC Music Producer), Bill Atkinson.

Supporters of the project include Coral Street Art Space, Sportspower Victor Harbor, Hotel Victor, Victor Harbor Hockey Club and major sponsors Ecco Marketing and City of Victor Harbor.
