Today VPS has had the most fantastic celebration for NAIDOC Week. After a morning smoking ceremony, the Nulungu Dreaming Group worked with the students in a series of cultural workshops. They taught us about the skill of boomerang throwing and the science behind a number of special cultural objects such as message sticks and coolamons. Jessy explained how the didgeridoo works and taught the students dance sequences performed at different times of the year. Beatrice, the granddaughter of Eddie Mabo, and her daughter taught us about the culture and dance of the Torres Strait Islands. It was a truly memorable day.

We welcome dear little people to our school in Kindergarten. We watch them grow and grow. Then out of the blue they have become gorgeous young adults.
Gracious Henry generously gave some time to an embarrassing, overzealous office lady this weekend.
