Yesterday was perfect weather for the children to explore and investigate a range of science experiences. Our Kangaroos room began the day by exploring prisms, where the children discovered how sunlight passing through the prism can create colourful rainbows. The children were fascinated by the beautiful colours and enjoyed experimenting with the prism to observe how the rainbow formed.

Later, they created a volcano mountain and lava experiment. The children used dinosaurs and natural plants around the mountain to create an inviting environment that encouraged the children to participate in the experience.
The children discussed how smoke, lava and pieces of rock can come from a volcano. The children were excited to watch the volcano experiment and thoroughly enjoyed observing the eruption.

Our Joeys room kicked off Science Week with a colourful fizzing experiment using bicarbonate soda and pipettes filled with red, blue and yellow vinegar. The children eagerly watched as the vinegar reacted with the bicarbonate soda, creating exciting foaming and fizzing. They touched, mixed and poured the colours over the soda, enjoying plenty of sensory exploration and discovering what happened when the different materials came together.

🦷✨ Dental Health Week | 4th–10th August ✨🦷

Healthy smiles start with healthy habits! 😁 At Mayfield Early Education Tecoma, we’ll be exploring all things dental health through fun, engaging experiences that help children learn how to care for their teeth.

From practising the best way to brush to discovering which foods help keep our teeth strong, we’ll be making learning about oral health exciting and hands-on!

Here’s how you can join in at home:

🦷 Brush twice a day for two minutes
💧 Drink plenty of water
🍎 Choose tooth-friendly snacks
😁 Remember to visit the dentist regularly
