Christmas is on the way
This is an order I finished yesterday and now sending it off to Western Australia.
What a cute gift for two young sisters.

All is handmade by me in my wood workshop from timber like jacaranda, eucalyptus, cedar, cadagi and Lord Howe island hoop pine.

All pieces are soft to touch and finished with beeswax from Gilly’s and linseed oil.

My favourite castle called Moritzburg near Dresden.
The Moritzburg Castle or Moritzburg Palace is a Baroque palace in Moritzburg, in the German state of Saxony, about 13 kilometres northwest of the Saxon capital, Dresden.
The castle has four round towers and lies on a symmetrical artificial island filled with carp.

Moritzburg Castle was named after Duke Maurice, who had a hunting lodge built for himself near Dresden in 1542.
From 1723, Augustus the Strong converted it into a magnificent baroque castle in the middle of a large pond and park. The project was directed by Matthaeus Poeppelmann.
Some of the treasures to be discovered at Moritzburg Castle include one of the most important collections of hunting trophies in Europe, ornate gilt leather tapestries and the »Feather Room« with over a million colored feathers.
Every winter, Moritzburg Castle transforms into a fairy-tale pearl when the grounds become the magical setting of the legendary film »Three Wishes for Cinderella«. Fans can explore the set and walk in the footsteps of the cheeky princess.
I tried the shoe, not mine as it doesn’t fit.

What a beautiful evening to visit this gorgeous castle. Thanks to my aunty and husband I got to see it again.

Radebeul in Saxonia
Seeing wineries and vineyards in this region and climbing 365 steps to the top of these hills to admire this outstanding view was just amazing.
We stopped at Spitzhouse for lunch and enjoyed the view to all Dresden from above.

Radebeul is a historic wine-growing town and residential suburb between Dresden and Meissen.
A village Radebeul was first mentioned in 1349.

Meissen in Saxonia is just divine
My aunty took me to this postcard perfect city. Each street, building or turn we took was just amazing to see.

Meissen’s history is rich and multifaceted, starting with its establishment as a castle built by King Henry I in 929, making it the “cradle of Saxony”.

The city became a major center of the Wettin dynasty, and its later importance was solidified by the founding of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in 1710, which produced the first European porcelain.

In 1722 The Meissen trademark, the crossed blue swords, was adopted, symbolizing the high quality of the porcelain.

The construction of Meissen Cathedral was begun in 1260 on the same hill as the Albrechtsburg castle. The resulting lack of space led to the cathedral being one of the smallest cathedrals in Europe. The church is also known as being one of the purest examples of Gothic architecture.

My sister, my mum and I drove to a little village near Hohenfelden, where every house was from a different region placed here and fully restored for visitors to admire.
These houses show different styles and eras of farm living with animals downstairs and bedrooms living quarters upstairs.
Some building demonstrate a mill with grinder, a blacksmith, the pottery and carpenter and a playground between 16th century to 18th century.

What a fantastic day out.

The house owners have so much bride, therefore I show you some examples I walked past today, on my way to meet my friend for lunch.

Weimar in Thüringen
What a beautiful day to see this old city.

Here a little bit of history about wonderful Weimar.
The oldest records regarding Weimar date to 899. The place was the seat of the County of Weimar, first mentioned in 949, which was one of the most powerful jurisdictions in early Middle Ages Thuringia. In 1062 it was united with the County of Orlamünde into the new County of Weimar-Orlamünde, which existed until the Thuringian Counts’ War in 1346. It fell to the Wettins afterwards.

The city was a focal point of the German Enlightenment and home of the leading literary figures of Weimar Classicism, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller. In the 19th century, composers such as Franz Liszt made Weimar a music centre. Later, artists and architects including Henry van de Velde, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, and Walter Gropius came to the city and founded the Bauhaus movement, the most important German design school of the interwar period.

Therefore I’ve taken so many pictures as every time you turn your head, you see another old building with historical significance.

Yesterday I was lucky to be invited to help my aunty, who is a florist, presenting and delivering a floral workshop .jena.
We focused on a table design using ice cream vessels, cake platters and vintage coffee/cake sets.

My aunty organised different fresh flowers in beautiful colours and sizes and I went to the big park called PARADISE near by for the green foliage.

Great teacher, wonderful venue, fabulous team work and lovely participants made this evening just perfect.

Everyone made three pieces and I gave mine to my mum and we punt one on her husband’s grave.
