At times, students have identified needs to have adjustments made to their assessment situation to ensure they are not disadvantaged in the process of being deemed competent or not. There is often confusion over what can or cannot be done in adjusting assessment for students.

In this webinar, Angela McGregor explains the intricacies of reasonable adjustment and identifies what can be done in a range of situations, and common mistakes that are made but should be avoided.

One of the benefits of assessment in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector is the ability to use experience in the workplace as part of formal assessment. This workplace evidence can be submitted as part of a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application or as evidence towards a qualification or skill set being undertaken with a workplace assessment component. This webinar will take you through that process step-by-step.

RTOs are required to comply with the VET Quality Framework (VQF) which includes a number of items including the Standards for RTOs 2015 and the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Within the Standards lies the phrase ā€˜amount of training’ and within the AQF we have the ā€˜volume of learning’ – but what is the difference and what do we need to do with it?

Would you believe that approximately 4,000 Australian RTOs have developed a total of around 25,000 Third Party Agreements with external providers of products and services! Now that’s a risk that needs managing.

RTOs can still achieve the same quality of training and assessment outcomes and reduce the risk of non-compliance through the support of good third-party providers.

Join with me in this webinar to discuss how RTOs can monitor their third party agreements to feel self-assured and confident that the third party continues to be accountable for assisting RTOs to meet their responsibility in meeting stakeholder needs.

As an RPL assessor, you will need to know your RPL assessment tool ā€˜inside out’ and be flexible enough to switch between evidence-gathering approaches in a fair way that meets the candidate’s needs.

The session discusses how the RPL assessor needs to consider making decisions about evidence in a dynamic way during the course of the RPL assessment and always be considering ā€œwhen is enough enough?ā€.

When asked what they do to identify learner support needs, many registered training organisations (RTOs) will respond with their process for conducting a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) test and not go beyond this. The question is though - is this enough? What should we be doing to ensure we are providing sufficient support for our learners? This question, amongst others, will be answered in this webinar with Angela.
