Congratulations to our finalists who attended the BCE Excellence Awards last Friday night: our STEM Team, Phoebe Leech, Heidi Tomlinson, Danielle El-Fakhouri, and Katrina Dalglish, who was awarded a commendation for Excellence in Learning and Teaching in Secondary School. 👏
These individuals and teams have been recognised for their dedication and commitment to our Catholic mission and values. Selected from hundreds of nominations across Brisbane Catholic Education, this recognition is a valuable acknowledgment of the positive contribution they make to our college community and the lives of young people.
This year’s BCE Excellence Awards attracted an impressive 633 nominations from 116 schools and the BCE Office, celebrating the passion, leadership, and commitment of those who make a meaningful difference in education every day.

🎉 FOUNDERS’ DAY 2026 ✨ On Friday we gathered to celebrate Founders’ Day honouring St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, and Blessed Edmund Rice who founded the Josephite Sisters and the Christian Brothers respectively. The day began with a meaningful Mass and Liturgy, providing an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of our founders and the spirit of faith, service and connection that shapes life at CMC.
The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a vibrant showcase of dance and music performances, the much-loved traditional ‘Gift’ Race, and a range of activities including rock climbing, a petting zoo and jumping castles. Adding to the festive atmosphere, our CMC Interact Club bake stall was a crowd favourite along with the ever-popular Vinnies BBQ.

QUOTA Dance Eisteddfod | Last Thursday our Junior and Senior Troupes competed at Quota Eisteddfod. They danced beautifully and the results show for it. All the early mornings and late afternoons are a testament to the dedication of our students. Many thanks to our staff Ms Carlile, Ms Parkes and Ms Kirk and guest choreographers: Sophie, Rhys and Jayda.
