Introducing Lightning-Miyagi!
The children at Coonara ELC have a an aquarium home to a very cheeky and inquisitive betta fish.
We took some time thinking of some names for him, and during this discussion, the children spoke about how some children have a middle name.
“Can the fish have two names like us?” they asked.
We compiled a list of names, drew them out of a hat, and we henceforth dub our fish “Lightning-Miyagi!”

This week at Kindergarten the children are delving into the wonderful world of science!
This years’ theme for National Science Week is “Seeds of science - nurturing knowledge for all”

We had a discussion last week about which “seeds” of knowledge that the children would like to pursue, and here are some wonderings and lines of inquiry the children had.

We are using these seeds as provocations for our program and experiences this week!

$4098 - that’s how much our sausage sizzle and cake stall brought in at Bunnings Scoresby today.
We cannot thank our staff, volunteers, families, committee and supporters enough for all of your donations and help today!
Coonara ELC is a wonderful little group with a mighty community behind it.
Our gratitude goes out to our mums, dads, aunts, grandparents, sisters and friends who came to work at the bbq stand and cake stall today.
A huge thank you to the families and Coonara supporters who made a wonderful array of baked goods!
We are looking forward to purchasing some amazing resources and equipment for our children’s programs at Kinder and Occasional Care 🤎
