πŸ“š And that's a wrap on Book Week 2026! πŸ“š

We have had a fantastic week celebrating all things reading with the whole College. Chiara Library organised many events, such as scavenger hunts, locker lotteries and Matilda-themed competitions for students and staff to promote 'A Symphony of Stories'. Today we had our Book Week assembly and parade, showcasing some incredibly inventive costumes!

We would like to thank all of the students and staff in P-12 who got into the spirit of Book Week and dressed up, and a massive thanks to the real champions here - the parents! Your support and championing of Book Week is very appreciated by the library team.

More photos to come next week!

πŸ§ͺ🌱 National Science Week 2026: Seeds of Science – Nurturing Knowledge for All 🌱πŸ§ͺ

Our MYSY students enjoyed a week of fun, creativity and friendly competition during Science Week 2026!

Throughout the week, students took part in engaging lunchtime activities including spaghetti tower building, paper plane challenges and science trivia, putting their problem-solving, teamwork and scientific thinking skills to the test.

A huge thank you to our incredible Student STEM Ambassadors, who organised and led each activity with enthusiasm and passion. Their dedication helped inspire curiosity, innovation and a love of learning across our College community.

It's wonderful to see students sharing their knowledge, sparking new ideas and helping to nurture the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators. πŸ”¬πŸš€

Building rafts, tackling team challenges and making memories with friends... our Year 5 students have had an unforgettable time at camp!

Beyond the exciting activities, camp was all about courage, cooperation, independence and giving new things a go.

The smiles say it all. Welcome back, Year 5. We can't wait to hear all your camp stories!

πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ Taking time to connect outside the College.

A number of our staff spent Saturday exploring the beautiful Tamborine Rainforest before sharing lunch together on the mountain. Opportunities like these strengthen the relationships that help make Assisi such a supportive and connected community for our students and families.

She has a big few days ahead at Parliament House, meeting young people from across Australia, getting involved in debates and seeing how things work behind the scenes.

MATILDA: MEET THE CAST 🎭

Meet Isla Niblock, playing Miss Honey! πŸŽπŸ“š

Isla joined Assisi in Prep and is now in Year 6. She loves English, enjoys cooking, and likes nothing more than unwinding at home with a face mask and a good book.

Her favourite musical is Beauty and the Beast, which she was lucky enough to see in London, while her favourite song from Matilda is When I Grow Up.

Inspired by creativity and design, Isla hopes to become an interior designer in the future.

When asked what she has in common with Miss Honey, Isla's friends all agreed on one thing, they're both incredibly kind. πŸ’›

We can't wait to see Isla bring the much-loved Miss Honey to life on stage!
