STOP POSTING THE AFTER FIRST… THIS IS WHY👇
If you’re posting the after shot first because it looks good on your grid? You’re thinking about the wrong thing.
Because what keeps people on your post longer is the buildup. The curiosity. The “I need to see where this is going” feeling.
That’s what makes someone swipe. That’s what makes them stay on your post for longer. Signaling the algorithm that this is a post more people should see!
The hairdressers winning on Instagram right now aren’t just showing beautiful work. They’re taking people on a journey. Process first. Payoff second.
Give them a reason to stay.

You’re out here chasing aesthetic when aesthetic isn’t even the problem.
The filters aren’t the problem. The fancy camera you bought and never use isn’t the problem.
Because a filter on a poorly framed photo is just a bandaid. It doesn’t fix what’s broken underneath.
The problem is that nobody taught you how to actually frame a photo. How to compose a video. How to place text so people can read it without squinting.
These are the skills that make content look good. Not the gadgets.
And the good news? They’re learnable. I have the systems, the steps and the guidelines to get you there.

The girl in that stage never felt ready.
Too awkward. Too cringe. Not perfect enough.
She kept waiting for the day she’d magically feel confident enough to post.
That day never came.
So she showed up anyway. Shaky voice, no make up, zero followers watching.
And then she did it again. And again. And again.
That’s the only secret. There’s no hack. No perfect moment. No version of you that’s finally ready enough.
Just the decision to show up before you feel ready.
That girl on stage? She’s just the one who stopped waiting.
Your audience isn’t waiting for the perfect version of you. They’re waiting for the real one.

YOUR EDITS DON’T HAVE TO BE COMPLICATED.
Your hair isn’t stunning. But because the background is stealing the show.
You take the photo. The colour is everything. The styling is perfect. But something feels off when you post it and you can’t figure out why.
It’s the edit. Or the lack of it.
This is one of the simplest changes you can make to your content and it takes minutes. No filters. No touching your client’s face. Just a clean background swap that lets the hair do exactly what it’s supposed to do. POP.
My gorgeous client ’s hair speaks for itself. We just made sure the photo did too.
The full breakdown of this fast editing technique is inside the Social Academy. Simple. Safe. Fast.

Is your Instagram feed full of hairdressers or clients?
We have built something really special in this industry community. But if your goal is more bookings, your content and your engagement needs to reach the people actually sitting in your chair.
I recently did a poll on my stories and 80% of you said you wanted more bookings over followers and views. So why are we so focused on what every other stylist is posting?
Here are 5 simple ways to make sure your Instagram is actually working for your business, not just your industry cred.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this topic, do you feel like there’s not enough client content on the gram?

Your single photo isn’t doing enough work.
It’s not giving your followers the full picture and it’s not stopping the scroll.
Collages fix that. Before and afters. Split screens. Triple shots. More context, more texture, more reason to stop and look.
But where most people go wrong is the size, wrong ratio, borders left on. It looks off and you don’t even know why.
3:4 ratio. No borders.
Done right, it looks clean and intentional.
Comment COLLAGE and I’ll DM you the app I use plus a simple step by step so you can start doing this straight away. xx

Forget the recap.
Here’s something you can actually take home!
I presented at Maneland this week on the DHA Creator Stage and we went deep on how to optimise your Instagram profile so you get discovered and grow your audience.
If you couldn’t make it, or you were there and already forgot everything I said (no judgment, the day was full!), I’ve got you.
I’m sending out the exact profile cheat sheet I walked through on stage. For free (there’s even a full video tutorial)

Bobs are actually one of the most underposted styles on Instagram right now.
Not saturated. Not overdone. Just… missed.
And that’s your opportunity!
You don’t need to go all in and only post bobs. But if your feed is back to back colour and blowouts, you start to blend in. Everyone looks the same. Diversity is what makes people stop and actually look at YOUR page.
Bobs do something really special on camera. The shape is mesmerising. Even the subtlest bend, the softest curve, those balanced lines just catch the eye in a way that colour alone doesn’t always do. And blunt ends? Razor sharp, clean, heavy lines photograph like nothing else. That’s a scroll stopper every single time.
Take my gorgeous subscriber Rose Olivia ~ Bath hairstylist 👏 These are her bobs and they have had multiple viral moments and honestly you can see exactly why.
So don’t sleep on your short haired girlies. They deserve to be on your feed!
