Recently I took myself off on a wee micro adventure out west and found my furry friend Mullein in full bloom.

Verbascum thapsus - greater mullein is a native to Europe and a fuzzy w**d naturalising itself around the world. It’s seeds have been found fossilised in parts of England. Here in Australia it spreads itself in cooler, temperate climates and is flowering in our hot summer.

With many recorded uses from Pliny to Culpepper to Grieves, Mullein is a multilayered medicinal plant with all parts of the plant useful.

So lovely finding these beauties and collecting a leaves. I hope to use them for an oil and might burn some smoke for lung health, just the medicine for these times.

🌸 Wild Peach blossom time! 🌸

The cold south-west winds and sunshine of our Australian winter,
herald the awakening of these wild peace blossoms!

Enjoying their beauty, fragility and burst of colour around the place.

The lovely Slender Celery - is awakening after its summer die back. Such a little beauty in the garden with the fresh tufts great in salad, good to munch and add to soups etc.

Cyclospermum leptophyllum - known commonly as Marsh Parsley or Slender Celery is found in tropical countries and has been used medicinally in India and Africa and was described in 1889 as a useful wild plant in Australia by Joseph Maiden.
