We’re growing our team and looking for a qualified Primary School Education Assistant or Teacher with experience supporting children across literacy and numeracy.

For this position, we're looking for someone who has:

🌻 3+ years’ experience in a qualified Primary School Education Assistant or Teacher role
🌻 Experience working in Australian schools
🌻 Sounds-Write training and experience
🌻 Experience teaching maths and literacy across Years 1–6
🌻 A valid Working With Children Card
🌻 Two recent professional referees
🌻 A current resume and cover letter

The role is on-site in Fremantle, Perth WA.

Sometimes the signs are easy to miss.

Your child may be getting by at school, but reading is still slow. They avoid sounding out unfamiliar words. Spelling feels much harder than it seems to for their classmates. Writing takes a huge amount of effort.

Or perhaps they have started saying things like:

"I don't like reading."

"I'm not good at spelling."

"I don't know how to write this."

For children in Years 1–3, these can be signs that some of the underlying literacy foundations need more explicit teaching and practice.

At The Learning Circle Tutor, we can assess foundational literacy skills and identify where the gaps are, including sound recognition, blending, segmenting and sound manipulation. From there, we can develop a targeted literacy program based on what your child actually needs.

Our aim isn't simply to get children through the next reading task.

It's to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to become more capable, independent learners.

We offer 1:1 and small group literacy support for primary-aged students in Fremantle.
