Elevating primary school Physical Education requires more than just standard equipment.

Embracing a diverse range of materials is key to developing fundamental movement skills. From large, soft objects for beginner catchers to engaging toys that make throwing and catching more dynamic, variety keeps students motivated and progressing.

Focusing on cues like 'eyes on the object,' 'soft hands,' and 'elbows in' helps children master catching.

Gradually introducing different balls like tennis, net, or basketballs builds confidence and skill within a sporting context.

What innovative equipment do you use to enhance PE lessons and foster fundamental movement skills?

Comment the word PE

No one knows who I am…

I’ve worked with literally thousands and thousands of high school teachers in PDHPE, CAFS and HMS.

Across the last 15 years these teachers know my name.

But primary PE?

We are very blessed to support 40 primary schools in K-6 PDHPE here in NSW.

Aside from that no one knows me.

I have big goals to become the GO-TO in PE across Australia. 🇦🇺
Yep I just said it out loud to the whole internet.

I’m here for impact, here to support even more teachers.

Welcome to Episode 1.

Join me as I chase this goal that has been bubbling away…

Tell me in the comments, how can we support YOU in PE? 👇

"I'm not sporty, so I can't really teach PE."

I have heard that in staffrooms right across Australia.

We aren't teaching elite sport, we are teaching PE.

Run. Hop. Balance. Throw. Catch. The Fundamental Movement Skills are the alphabet of movement. Kids need them before they can read the game.

And you already have the method. I do, we do, you do.

Model it. Practise together. Let them try. Then watch, notice one small thing and say it out loud.

That is feedback. You do it multiple times a day in your literacy block.

You are not unqualified to teach PE. Nobody has told you that you are already doing it.

Comment MOVE and I will send you a free resource to teach FMS really easily.

Primary teachers, you don’t have to be sporty to teach PE!!

NSW and Australian primary teachers have confessed to us that they just don’t feel sporty enough to teach PE.

But if you can teach kids how to read and write and do their timetables, you can teach primary PE.

We have shared this in the latest addition of School News.

You can teach PE well through explicitly teaching skills to your students.

Help get your students Health and Movement Science examples stand out from the crowd.

Textbook examples are what every other student is going to use.

We want your student examples to be different...

SUAVE is the key: Specific, Unique, Applied, Variety, Explicitly linked.

Move beyond textbook basics.

Create standout examples that truly show your knowledge and make you memorable.

Comment the word PODCAST to listen to how to make this happen.

Yep he’s my Dad.

We went for a coffee to chat about some Reno’s he wants to do at his place and then he does a celebrity farmers carry at our gym. 🤣🤣🤣

Health and Movement Science teachers it’s that time!

Trial HSC marking…

And this year I want you to ditch the red pen! 🖊️

Give our pink for positive and green for growth strategy.

Pink = positive đź’•
Green = growth 🌱

Positive, what the kids did well.
Growth, what the kids need to improve.

It’s simple, it’s practical, it’s powerful.

It works!
