The Practice - Sydney Drum Lessons Hey, we are ThePractice, Sydney-based Rhythm Consultants. We teach drums. Why were we there? But not any more! Bungle, Dieselhed, and more.

Our studio was just two blocks from Town Hall in Sydney’s CBD and was just short of lovely. We were a Sydney-based music space, catering specifically to the tuition of students in drums and percussion. That's because we were booted from the CBD by THE CBD about half a year ago, in May, 2016. The school's principle teacher was Danny Heifetz, a world-renowned drummer, known primarily for his work wi

th SecretChiefs3, Mr Bungle, blahblahblah. Originally from TheStates, Danny moved to Australia over a decade ago and in 2013 opened The Practice with Jimmy Cooper, a rising talent in the Australian music industry. Jimmy works as a both a session and touring musician - most recently with UK electronic music duo, The Slips, signed to EMI and Universal here in Australia. We used to help direct musical ambitions towards noisy outcomes but we can't anymore because we, uh, don't exist anymore. Danny Heifetz & Jimmy Cooper - Rhythm Consultants

Danny was ThePractice’s principal teacher. He's been teaching drums in Sydney for 13 years and accepts all levels of students. Originally from one of America’s finest port cities, he spent just enough years there and abroad on an uncomfortable stool with Secret Chiefs, Mr. He has toured bits of the world and been part of such historically significant moments as the legendary Link Wray accidentally walking off the stage, mid-song. He currently performs around Sydney with The Tango Saloon, Munkle, The Exiles and others. He can also teach you almost everything there is to know about baseball, even though he kinda sucks at it. Jimmy ran ThePractice like a well-oiled deep fryer, taking crispy care of bookings, events & enquiries. Jimmy is the live & touring drummer for UK via Sydney electronic act The Slips and signed to EMI Records in Australia. We're almost ready! The Practice reopens for 2014 on 1 Feb with a bigger & more badass studio than ever. Andrew Covell (Jimmy Barnes) joins the lineup for vocal/guitar/production tuition, alongside Danny Heifetz (Mr Bungle) & Jimmy Cooper (The Slips/EMI) for drums/percussion/DJ tuition. We're proud to welcome Andrew Covell to The Practice family! Andrew brings more than 20 years of production and songwriting experience to our studio. He's a session player for Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, produced work for Frenzal Rhomb and has sung for the Australian Opera. Andrew also teaches courses at the Australian Institute of Music. If you're interested in taking your songwriting to the next level, Andrew's your guy. Welcome aboard amigo!

Danny Heifetz (born, 1964 in New York City) is an American rock drummer. He usually living in Sydney, Australia. He is primarily a drummer and percussionist, but also plays trumpet as well as the guitanjo. He is the grandson of the late violinistJascha Heifetz.
