Experience Taiko at the Australian Taiko Academy! 🥁

After a year of training, TAIKOZ Artist Silvana and Australian Taiko Academy students Keira and Midori are ready to take on 42.195 km — and make every kilometre count.
When TAIKOZ lost its government funding, many in our dojo community were left feeling powerless, so they decided to create some momentum:
Let’s RUN for TAIKOZ! 🥁❤️
While raising awareness of TAIKOZ and our dojo, the team has also been raising funds for Beyond Blue to support mental health and wellbeing. The team has almost raised $5,000, and there is still time to help them reach their goal of $6,000!

Taiko no Wa is our vibrant performing ensemble made up of dedicated Australian Taiko Academy class members.

🌟 Event Details:

What: Emerge Festival (Food, market stalls, live music & performances!)

When: Saturday, 5th September (All day!)

Parade: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Weather permitting). We’re Group 42, so look for us near the back of the parade!

Bring your friends and family for an awesome day out supporting local live music! 🙌❤️

As you saw and heard, they’ve poured their hearts into preparing an outstanding concert to cap off Team USA’s 10-week residency with Taikoz and the ATA community. We’re also so grateful for your support in making it possible to host our own concerts right here in our beloved dojo, allowing last night’s performance to become a wonderful opportunity for these rising stars to showcase their growing musical, technical, ensemble, and organisational skills.

Full day, big energy, and unforgettable rhythms! 🥁🔥

Instructors Ian, Ryuji, Silvana, and Sophia visited International Grammar School for an all-day workshop! The students crushed it, tackling 2 distinct Taiko drumming styles and a traditional-inspired dance.
