Ulong Public School came alive with colour, culture and connection as we celebrated Harmony Day together. Students proudly wore orange and beautiful cultural outfits, embracing the spirit of inclusivity and belonging. The day was filled with delicious moments as we cooked and shared a variety of cuisines, bringing our community closer through food and conversation.

We were incredibly privileged to welcome visual artist Hton Hton and Wan from Malaysia, along with their family, who enriched our day with vibrant cultural dances, insights into traditional attire, and a hands-on art experience creating elephants from recycled milk bottles. Htun Htun also shared a meaningful message about Harmony Day—reminding us that through love, kindness and respect, we can all play a part in making our world a better place.

It was a joyful celebration, and our students truly had a ball!

Update!!! I contacted the artist and he said if 1 & 3 litre was difficult then he will make 2 litres work too. So if you have 2 litre milk bottles then that will be fine too. So please send 2 litre and 3 litres. Thank you in advance.

We are kindly requesting again for families to send in empty 1L or 3L milk bottles for our upcoming art activity.

A big thank you to the two families who have already contributed — we truly appreciate your support. So far, we have received 4 bottles, however, we require 35 in total for this activity to go ahead.

We understand how busy life can be, but as most households use milk for cereals, tea, or coffee, we are hoping each family may be able to send in just one empty bottle for your own child.

Unfortunately, if we do not receive enough bottles, we may need to cancel the artist’s visit on Thursday, as the materials are essential for the activity.

Thank you for your understanding and support — it makes a big difference to our students’ learning experiences.
