Our NAIDOC Week celebration activities were very special this year. Our community guests generously shared their knowledge, experience and energy and we all learned so much and had a beautiful morning together.

The silverware has arrived! 🏆

Take a look at the incredible haul our talented musicians brought home this week! Alongside those two shiny Gold Certificates from the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts, our collection of trophies is proof of just how hard everyone worked. You can also see some of the medals of individual performers

An achievement like this doesn't happen in a vacuum, and we want to extend a massive THANK YOU to our amazing Uki school community:
To our incredible parents and carers: thank you for the endless encouragement at home, keeping up with practice schedules, ensuring everyone was impeccably presented, and helping our students represent Uki Public School with absolute pride at every single performance. We appreciate you!

And a very special shout-out to two behind-the-scenes superstars, Alexa and Jordan! They took on the mammoth, vital task of prepping the Music Performance shirts for the Sydney Choir and bands. From tracking down the right sizes to magically sourcing spare shoes and pants for last-minute performance emergencies, we truly could not have done this without you both.

What a week for Uki Public School Music! Our Bunyip and Concert Bands performed on Tuesday at the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts, both won gold awards in their categories. Then today we had our K-2 and Sydney Choirs performing. Both were outstanding and received exemplary feedback from the adjudicators. This is following some excellent performances from students in solo, duet and trio performances over the past week.

A focus of the feedback was that we are lucky enough to be part of one of the best music programs in the country, even internationally, thanks to Mrs Armour! What a wonderful opportunity for all of our students. Every student did a wonderful job of performing, we are so proud of them!

First time ever Attendance Allstar awards were presented today for 100% attendance in Term 2. Congratulations to these 4 students. Tomorrow we will celebrate their awesome attendance with a special morning tea for them. And we look forward to an even bigger group joining us at the end of Term 3!
We also gave out more than 50 Ekidna awards this week for students with over 90% attendance in the last 5 weeks this term. Well done everyone - attendance matters!

Former parent and friend of the school, Adrian, has been running T-ball sessions with our students this term. Despite the challenging weather they learned throwing and catching skills, working towards hitting the ball then playing a short game.

Northern Rivers Baseball is one of the Tweed’s fastest-growing community sports organisations, offering programs for players aged from just 4 years old, right through to adult leagues. This summer season will see programs and games at Stan Sercombe Oval in Murwillumbah (former Mustangs home ground). Look out for 'Come and Try' days scheduled through August.
