Student in the Spotlight | Oli LG

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Oli LG, who has received an exciting scholarship offer to attend a Prep School in Utah, USA, where he will continue to pursue his passion and talent for basketball.

Oli has been an outstanding representative of Flinders, particularly through our Cross Campus Basketball teams. His commitment on the court and the way he has consistently demonstrated the Flinders values across all areas of College life have been second to none.

Oli will be immensely missed at our Tyabb Campus, but we are excited to see where this next chapter takes him.

Congratulations, Oli, on this incredible achievement. The future is certainly bright!

On Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th July, our VCE Music students had the invaluable opportunity to participate in a series of Music Masterclass Sessions led by professional musicians Kathleen Halloran (guitar), Liam Bradford (drums), and Maddy Herbert (vocals). All three musos work extensively in the Music Industry touring with artists such as Kate Ceberano, and The Cat Empire, releasing original songs on radio stations such as Triple J, and performing on TV shows such as Spicks and Specks.

These Masterclass sessions provided students with expert guidance on instrument technique, musical expression, stagecraft, and effective performance preparation as they continue working towards their end-of-year VCE Performance Examinations.

Congratulations Amy and Oli!

A huge congratulations to Amy T (Year 12) and Oli U (Year 12) on their outstanding success in the Teen Chef Regional Finals!

Competing at Mount Waverley Secondary College, Amy and Oli had just 60 minutes to prepare a main course, with the challenge of deboning and using a whole chicken.

Their incredible dish – a Butter Chicken Roulade with Chicken Tikka Crepinette, Pickled Vegetables, Charred Lime and Pomegranate Labneh – impressed the judges and earned Flinders Christian Community College first place!

This fantastic achievement means Amy and Oli will now represent Victoria at the Teen Chef National Finals this September.

We are incredibly proud of your skill, creativity and teamwork, and we wish you all the very best as you prepare for the national competition. Congratulations!

Congratulations to our Cross Campus Primary Strings students!

Our talented young musicians gave a wonderful performance at the Victorian Schools Music Festival at the Hawthorn Arts Centre on Monday 27 July. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, commitment and confidence on stage.
