On Tuesday, September 22, our school’s Rugby League squad travelled to South Tweed to participate in the annual Tweed Inter-School Rugby League Carnival. Marking the final Rugby League event on the calendar for the year, the tournament proved to be an absolute triumph for our school, both on and off the field.
The team put on a masterclass performance across every fixture, completing the carnival with an undefeated record. From the opening whistle of the first match, the players displayed outstanding teamwork, sharp skill ex*****on, and structured defence. Every opponent brought strong competition, but our squad managed to stay disciplined, maintain momentum, and secure victory in every match played on the day.
While the results on the scoreboard were impressive, the standout feature of the tournament was the team's commitment to fair play. Throughout the carnival, the players represented the school with immense pride, demonstrating true sportsmanship towards referees, opposition teams, and spectators alike. Their positive attitude, respect, and encouragement of one another embodied the core values of school sport.
A campaign this successful does not happen without dedicated leadership behind the scenes. A special vote of thanks goes to team coach Ethan Leaver. His effort, guidance, and tactical preparation leading into the day kept the team motivated and focused, ensuring every player performed at their absolute best.
