"I made a new friend today" is one of the best sentences a child can bring home 💜

It usually starts small. Sharing a shovel in the sandpit, a spot next to each other at group time, someone to run beside during outdoor play. No big introductions needed, kids just find their way to each other.

What we love most is watching these little bonds grow over weeks and months. The same kids choosing each other at drop off, saving a seat, checking if their friend is coming in today. It's one of the quiet joys of being here every day, watching who your child gravitates towards and who gravitates towards them.

Friendships like these are part of why the day feels good for them, and why we think it matters just as much as anything on the learning program 🌱

When children play, they're doing so much more than having fun 🌱

Fine motor skills, the kind that show up later in holding a pencil or doing up a button, grow from the same place. Pouring water. Threading beads. Scooping sand. Squeezing play dough.

It doesn't need to look like structured learning to be learning. At Freckles, we give children the time and the space to just play. Because we know what's happening underneath it 💜

We are so excited to celebrate Emily as she steps into her new role as our Educational Leader at Freckles! 💜

Emily is an Early Childhood Teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity and passion to everything she does.

Emily spends four days each week in our Kookaburras room, where her gentle, caring and nurturing nature shines through. She is soft, sweet and thoughtful, creating beautiful connections with children and supporting them to feel safe, confident and valued.

Emily loves designing creative learning experiences and sharing her wonderful ideas with the children and team. She has a special passion for risky play and sign language, encouraging children to explore, communicate and build their confidence through play.

With her kind heart, creative mind and genuine love for early childhood education, Emily is a wonderful addition to our leadership team. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will bring to Freckles in this exciting new role 🪴
