About Kay Lloyd
Kay Lloyd is a versatile artist with an eclectic taste and a passion for all things creative. Coming from a fine art background, her work has evolved over the years, embracing every aspect of art and creativity. Whether painting canvases, walls, or furniture, Kay finds joy in every step of the artistic process. Her art is characterized by its bright, colorful, and uplifting nature,
often inspired by her love for flowers—especially wildflowers—and the beauty of the natural world. Kay has shared her artistic talents across the globe, teaching art in various mediums to both children and adults. She particularly enjoys connecting with the older generation, sharing stories over a cuppa and an easel. With her deep love for the creative process, she has opened an art studio where people of all ages can immerse themselves in art-making within a welcoming, relaxed, and unpretentious environment. Kay is down-to-earth, approachable, and passionate about spreading happiness and positivity through art. She firmly believes that anyone can achieve self-awareness, healing, and personal growth by tapping into their creative, intuitive minds. Using art as therapy, Kay encourages others to embrace their creativity, helping them explore self-expression and discover the joy of the artistic process. The Philosophy of “Think Purple”
“Think Purple” is more than a name; it’s a way of life and a philosophy that holds a special place in Kay’s heart. For Kay, to "think purple" means living every moment with joy, happiness, and positivity—a balance that is contagious and inspires everyone around us. Purple is a genderless color, representing the perfect harmony of masculine and feminine energy. It symbolizes a way of being, and for Kay, it has been a family motto for as long as she can remember. As a child, whenever Kay felt anxious or worried, her father would ask, “Kay, what color is it?” Her answer always had to be, “Purple, Dad, it’s purple.” To this day, they still end every conversation with this saying, a mantra that Kay now shares with her daughter. With such a meaningful philosophy behind it, Kay felt compelled to name her art studio after this cherished family motto. Her goal is for everyone who steps into her studio—whether for a class, workshop, or lesson—to feel joyful, inspired, and empowered by the creative process. Passion for the Creative Process
Kay is deeply passionate (and perhaps a little obsessed!) with fostering creativity in people of all ages. For her, the magic lies in the journey of creating rather than the final product. She believes that through the process of art-making, we grow, learn, and gain profound insights into ourselves. Kay’s studio is a space where individuals are encouraged to explore their own unique creative expressions without judgment or restriction. All classes and workshops are designed to empower participants, allowing them to play, experiment, and embrace the flow of creativity in their own way. For Kay, “Think Purple” embodies her mission: to spread joy, positivity, and inspiration through the boundless power of creativity.
