Learning is a natural process yet at times students are challenged by the education process. I like to help students discover that not only can they do chemistry, but they are capable of being good scientists. I strive to help students to see the connections with their current understanding of the world and continually build their understanding into more sophisticated and deeper understandings, not just recalling knowledge, but transforming knowledge into a powerful tool. Chemistry is full of problems and my teaching models a wide variety of problem-solving strategies to assist my students to become independent problem-solvers.
