The countdown is on!

We’re getting ready to welcome our 2027 Kindergarten kids to Tumby for their very first taste of school life!

Our Kindergarten Orientation will run across four consecutive Tuesdays starting Tuesday 10 November, with lots of fun, play, getting to know each other and a chance for our future little Tumby kids to start feeling right at home.

If your child is starting Kindergarten in 2027 and you’d like them to join us, please contact our friendly office staff on 02 6676 6237 to register for Orientation or visit our website https://tumbulgum-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/

A little trip back in time for our Jalum students!

They’ve been learning all about Ancient Egypt and have been busy putting their learning into words writing about anything from the mighty River Nile, to the incredible Pyramids and the mysterious Sphinx.

What a day. We are still smiling.

I honestly don't think I can put into words just how incredible and a little overwhelming it was to look around our school opening and see such an enormous turnout.

To see so many current families, community members, former students and former staff all come together to celebrate Tumbulgum Public School was incredibly special. I loved meeting so many people who have been part of the story and legacy of our little school over the years.

Hearing your stories from those who have watched Tumbulgum through the tough times and seeing their pride and joy at what our school is now, we knew there was a strong future ahead for Tumbulgum Public School.

Our students haven't stopped talking about it either, seeing so many people turn up to support their school meant the world to them.

Everyone who was there has helped our school in one way or another, whether that was being there to help us clean up after the floods, or supporting us in ways big and small ever since.

Thank you to every single person who came to our official opening, supported us, shared in the celebrations and helped make the day one we will never forget.

We were so fortunate to have the Minister for Recovery Janelle Saffin join us on Wednesday to officially open our new school by unveiling our new plaque, cutting the ribbon and celebrating everything our new school stands for.

Our new building sits almost 3 metres above the ground and is built to stand strong against whatever the future brings. It's also home to something special from our past, our historic school bell, restored and back where it belongs. NSW Department of Education

What a morning! This week's playgroup was extra special with a music and movement session from Bop It Tots , and it was so lovely to see so many new faces enjoying our new school. Playgroup runs every Wednesday and is open to all our little ones and their grown-ups, a great chance to make friends, have a play, and see what Tumby all is about. Yesterday was a day we won't forget at Tumbulgum Public School. NSW Department of Education

Our new building was filled with current families, past students, future students and the community heroes who rolled up their sleeves and helped us clean up after the floods. Generations of Tumby came together, sharing stories and memories and it reminded us just how strong the Tumby spirit really is.

Our students were so proud to show off their new school. They sang their hearts out, and it was such a special feeling hearing our new school filled with joy.

Thank you to everyone who came along. Together, we've built a place where our kids feel safe, valued and inspired.

It’s fabulous to see our teachers using their planning time to work alongside our Assistant Principal Curriculum & Instruction (APCI), thoughtfully collaborating to ensure learning is well planned, high quality, explicit and targeted to the needs of our students.

This purposeful collaboration helps us sharpen our practice, increase student engagement and, most importantly, drive genuine improvement in student learning outcomes. 🎯

Behind every great school day is a team of people making it all happen, often quietly, always with care.

Our School Administrative and Support Team are the friendly faces who welcome families, keep the wheels turning, solve the problems, support our students and staff, and somehow seem to know where everything is! 😂

At Tumbulgum Public School, our SASS team are an incredibly important part of our little school community. Their work might happen behind the scenes, but the difference they make is seen and felt every single day.
