Years 3-6 have been very busy in Art with Mrs Hayward! Students created still life painting, learning sketching techniques and colour theory to create lifelike paintings of fruit on a tablecloth. They focused on shading, colour, shadows and perspective to make their artwork appear three-dimensional. 🫐🍉🍋🍊

HPGE Art Days – Art Days 5 & 6

Our HPGE Art Days are in full swing, and we are loving having students from across our network visit our school, share their creativity and learn alongside one another. It has been wonderful to see new friendships develop, students encouraging each other and everyone enjoying the opportunity to explore their artistic talents together.

During HPGE Art Day 5, students continued developing the lino printing skills they had begun during the previous Art Day. They refined their designs, focusing on using simple shapes, thick lines and less detail to create bold, eye-catching prints that were easy to interpret. Students also explored ways to add pops of colour using watercolour paints, with the opportunity to colour one of their completed prints or create, carve and print a new design on the other side of their lino.

On HPGE Art Day 6, students moved on to still life painting. They learned sketching techniques and colour theory to create a lifelike painting of fruit on a tablecloth, focusing on shading, colour and perspective to make their artwork appear three-dimensional. These paintings are still a work in progress, and students will continue developing them at the next Art Day.

It’s been a very busy and exciting few weeks here at TCS!

We celebrated Book Week, with so many fantastic costumes. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying dressing up and having fun together.

On Friday Fun Day, we split into groups and took turns baking, creating art, and exploring STEM activities. It was a lovely way to end the week!

Every Monday, we’ve also been enjoying Sporting Schools with Jeff, who visits to teach us soccer skills. This program has been a real hit with the students, and everyone is loving the chance to learn and play together!

To add to the fun, we had a visit from Andy the circus performer. The circus workshops brought lots of laughter and unforgettable moments.

In other exciting news, Brayden broke the 9 years boys 100m record at Lower Lachlan Athletics with an incredible time of 15.08 seconds. Amazing effort, Brayden!

We’re also thrilled to share that Ellijah attended the Western Region Secondary Cricket Trials, was selected, and will now represent the Western Team this November in Bathurst. A very proud moment for all of us at TCS.

Please enjoy some photos capturing these wonderful activities from the last couple of weeks!
