✨️ Kinder 2 Celebration of Learning ✨️

This month, we celebrated an important milestone for our Kinder 2 children as they prepared to transition to primary education.

What made this celebration especially meaningful was that the children played an active role in planning, sharing their ideas, making choices and helping decide how their learning journey would be celebrated. 🌱

Through play, exploration, relationships and discovery, the children have grown in confidence, curiosity and independence. They have developed strong foundations that will support them in their next chapter, including communication, problem-solving, resilience, and a positive sense of themselves as learners.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and grateful to the families and Educators who supported them along the way. This celebration of learning honoured not only what the children know, but also their voices, agency, and the wonderful learners they are becoming.

Wishing our children every success as they take this exciting next step! 🎒📚

We were delighted to welcome the Brighter Beginnings team from NSW Health, who attended to complete the children’s 4-year-old health and development checks.

These checks play an important role in Early Childhood Education and wellbeing. They help families gain a clearer understanding of their child’s development, highlight strengths and identify any areas where additional support may be beneficial. By offering these assessments on-site, we aim to make the process easier and more accessible for families, saving time and ensuring children feel safe and comfortable in a familiar environment.

We’re proud to partner with community services that share our commitment to supporting families and giving children the best possible start. 💛

This month, the children participated in a meaningful excursion to the Art House where they were invited to attend a puppet performance titled “Beanstalk.” 🌱

The experience provided an engaging introduction to the performing arts, supporting children’s cultural awareness and creative development. The excursion began with a bus trip, offering valuable opportunities for children to practise safe travel, engage with their local community and further develop their sense of agency and confidence.

During the Beanstalk performance, children were exposed to rich storytelling, puppetry techniques, and expressive movement which fostered:
✨️ Creative and imaginative thinking as the children were introduced to performing arts.
✨️ Literacy development as children listening intently to the story, engaged in discussion about the narrative, characters, and performance elements.
✨️ Social and emotional learning as they shared experience and strengthened relationships.

Following the excursion, children have continued to revisit the experience through role-play and storytelling, demonstrating ongoing learning, reflection and engagement. This excursion offered a valuable opportunity to broaden children’s cultural experiences while strengthening their community partnerships.

Our Kinder 2 children were honoured to attend the annual Kmart Wishing Tree opening ceremony at Westfield Tuggerah, engaging in a meaningful community event that supports children’s learning and development through real-life experiences.

The children confidently performed Christmas songs, participated in the spirit of giving by donating gifts, enjoyed a shared morning tea with cake and each received a special present from Kmart. These moments not only created joy but also strengthened their understanding of empathy, connection and community belonging. 🎄🎁

This experience meaningfully reflects key elements of the Early Years Learning Framework:
✨ Outcome 1 – Children have a strong sense of identity: participating in community events builds confidence, pride, and an understanding of themselves as valued members of a group.
✨ Outcome 2 – Children are connected with and contribute to their world: engaging in charitable giving supports children’s awareness of social responsibility and community participation.
✨ Outcome 5 – Children are effective communicators: singing and performing in front of others enhances confidence, expression and communication skills.

We are grateful for this opportunity each year to strengthen our partnership with the community and support children’s learning beyond the classroom.

Last week, we had an exciting visit from Kym the Reptile Man and what an amazing experience it was! The children were absolutely fascinated as Kym introduced us to a variety of reptiles, from snakes and lizards to a quick speedy turtle.🐍🦎🐢

The children showed curiosity and confidence, asking thoughtful questions and sharing what they already knew about animals. Many children demonstrated bravery and self-assurance by gently touching or even holding a reptile while others showed great care and respect by observing quietly and giving the animals space.

This visit supported a wide range of developmental learning:
✨️Cognitive development - Learnt new facts and were introduced to new animals.
✨️Social & Emotional Development – Building confidence, courage, empathy, and respect for living creatures.
✨️Physical Development – Practising gentle hands and fine motor control when touching or holding the reptiles.

Families, we’d love to hear what your child remembered most from the visit; Did they have a favourite reptile?

Last week, our children celebrated Halloween through a week full of imagination, creativity, and sensory exploration 🎃

Our learning spaces came alive with discovery as children explored:
🧙‍♀️Potion making, mixing and experimenting with colours, scents, and textures, supporting scientific thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity.
🧪 Sensory play, where little hands scooped, poured, and sifted, building fine motor skills, focus, and early math concepts.
🎨 Painting experiences, encouraging self-expression, creativity, and an appreciation for the process of art-making.
🦇 Dress-up play, allowing children to take on new roles, build confidence, and strengthen social-emotional connections through imaginative storytelling.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we see children as capable, curious and full of potential. Their Halloween explorations were more than just festive fun, they were meaningful opportunities to engage their senses, develop new skills, and express their unique ideas.

We loved watching their wonder unfold! 🧡
