On Wednesday we had 50 students from Years 3-6 represent the school at the annual Truganina District Athletics Carnival at the Werribee Athletics Track. The children had an extremely successful day as exhibited by the number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons they had won. In fact, the day was so successful that Dohertys Creek finished second in the school's championship. A very proud achievement! We will now have a number of children that will qualify for the Wyndham Division Athletics Carnival on September 10th (Neville will contact families when he get the names for this). Congratulations and well done everyone! A big and special thank you also has to go out to our teachers Rimoni, Victor and Alex for helping organise and supervise our children on Wednesday.

Celebrating Principals’ Day 💙
Yesterday we celebrated Principals’ Day, recognising our Principal Class team and the leadership, care and commitment they bring to our DCC community.
We also welcomed some new faces to the team this term, with Jake joining us at the beginning of Term 3 and Justine and Lance joining us two weeks ago. Pictured are Justine, Dom, Noah, Darren, Matt and Jake, with Mal and Elysia in front. Lance, Anne-Marie and Tania are missing from the photo.
The day was also bittersweet as we farewelled Elysia, one of DCC’s founding staff members. Elysia leaves an important legacy through her work in wellbeing and inclusion, her advocacy for all—particularly those experiencing adversity—and her commitment to leading with a strengths-based approach.
A huge thank you to our students and staff who made the day so special. From Prep through to Year 9, we received thoughtful video and written messages, along with some fantastic portraits showing an uncanny likeness and some very creative interpretations of our Principal Class team! đź’™
