🌊 So many of our families are starting swimming lessons again, and we’re hearing the same worries:
“My child freezes when they get to the pool.”
“They get overwhelmed by the noise.”
“Transitions are hard.”
“They forget the sequence of what to do next.”
You are not alone. Swimming is a huge sensory + motor load, especially for kids who need more structure or predictability.
We put together a gentle, therapist designed bundle to help your child feel prepared, confident, and organised before they even step into the water.
It’s the exact support we use in sessions, now in a simple parent friendly format.
If you think this would help your child ease into summer swimming, you can download it directly from our website.
☀️ Swimming Readiness Bundle is now live.

🎄 The holidays are beautiful… and also a lot for our sensitive kids.
More noise, more people, new routines, big emotions, it’s no wonder so many families feel stretched thin this time of year.
At EquipKids, we’ve been talking with parents all week about how to make Christmas feel calmer and more predictable.
So we've put together a gentle little guide with therapist strategies to help your child (and you) feel more settled over the next few weeks.
If you could use some extra support heading into Christmas, we’re sharing it for free, no sign-ups, no fuss.
Just something to make the season feel a bit lighter. 💛
🎁 Our Christmas Survival Guide is now available on our website.

📣 Our January Holiday Groups Are Now Open!
With the end of the year almost here, many families are starting to think ahead about how to support their children through the long summer break.
For some kids, the holidays can feel unstructured, overwhelming, or disruptive, especially when regular routines and therapy sessions pause.
That’s why our therapists have created four small group holiday programs designed to keep children feeling confident, connected, and progressing right through January.
Upcoming Groups:
Snack Art Studio • School Ready • Lego Builders • Kinder Ready
Each program includes:
✨ Play based, therapist guided learning
✨ Small groups for personalised support
✨ Activities that build real world skills for a smoother transition into Term 1.
📍 Truganina
📅 Sessions running across January
👧 Limited spots per group
If you would like your child to start 2026 feeling organised, calm, and ready, now is the perfect time to secure a place.

Starting school should feel exciting, not overwhelming.
For many families, orientation day brings more chaos than calm: crowded classrooms, loud sounds, new faces, and rushed goodbyes.
For children who are sensory sensitive, anxious, or thrive on routine, it can be a lot to handle.
✨ Preparation builds calm.
A few small changes before the big day can make all the difference.
💚 Walk through the school when it’s quiet.
💙 Show your child photos or maps so they know what to expect.
💛 Practice a short, calm goodbye.
🩵 Keep mornings simple and predictable.

🧠 Your Calm Helps Your Child Calm
When your child is overwhelmed, you might feel pressure to fix it or “say the right thing.” But often, the most powerful support you can offer… is simply your calm.
🧡 Children “borrow” our nervous system. That means when you regulate yourself, slow your breathing, soften your tone, lower your body to their level, you are actually helping your child’s brain feel safe.
This is called co-regulation: calming with your child, not for them or at them.
But here is the catch: it starts with you.
🌿 Before you respond to your child’s big feelings:
Take 3 slow, deep breaths
Feel your feet grounded on the floor
Speak slowly and gently.
Even if your child cannot put their feelings into words yet, your calm presence sends a powerful message:
✨ “You are safe. I am here. We will get through this together.”
You do not need to be perfect. You just need to show up: grounded, gentle, and connected.
Because the more often your child borrows your calm, the more they learn to find their own.

Ever heard “You have to regulate yourself before co-regulating your child” ... and wondered what that really meant?
Let’s break it down 👇
✅ Regulation DOES look like:
Slowing your breath before responding
Speaking gently (even when flustered)
Saying, “I am calming myself so you feel safe.”
❌ Regulation does NOT mean:
Bottling your feelings
Expecting perfection
Forcing calmness on your child.
You are human too. It is okay to feel overwhelmed.
What matters most is showing your child how to move through big feelings with safety, not silence. Even something like:
👉 “Mum is feeling a bit frustrated. I am going to take 5 deep breaths.”
…becomes a powerful learning moment.
Your calm will not always be perfect. But it will help shape your child’s emotional world.
💛 You’ve got this. And we are right here with you.
