π± Emergency Alert Test β Monday 27 July π£
Please don't be worried if your phone makes a very loud alarm on Monday 27 July. The Australian Government will be testing the Emergency Alert system.
During the test your phone may:
π Make a loud alarm and vibrate
π± Receive a text message
π Receive a recorded phone call
This is only a practice test. There is NO emergency.
If you have a second or hidden phone for personal safety or private reasons, please remember that it may also receive the alert.
If you do not want the alarm to sound, you should:
βοΈ Put the phone into Aeroplane Mode, or
π Turn the phone OFF before the test.
Emergency Alerts are used during serious events such as bushfires, floods and severe storms to help keep people safe.
π If you know someone who has a hidden or spare phone for safety reasons, please share this information with them before 27 July.
