During NAIDOC Week, students across the school explored and celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through a range of creative learning experiences.
Each year level engaged with different stories, traditions and cultural practices, including ochre painting, Dreaming stories, message sticks, weaving, and the importance of preserving Aboriginal languages while recognising 50 years of NAIDOC.
It was wonderful to see students engaging thoughtfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and traditions through art, storytelling and hands-on learning experiences.

Community Notice
Please be advised that asbestos removal works will be taking place at the school on Thursday 9th July and Friday 10th July.
For everyone’s safety, the site must not be accessed on either of these days. We ask all community members to avoid entering the school grounds while these works are being carried out.
Camp Australia will be operating off-site on these two days.

Give a Damn Give a Can
This week, Kossie is supporting Rotary International’s “Give a Damn, Give a Can” drive.

Donations can be dropped off at the office and will be collected by the Rotary Club and given to St Vincent de Paul Society Gippsland to be sorted into care packages and distributed to families in need.

Our Grade 5/6 students had a fantastic time at Coonawarra Camp last week! They took part in a range of fun and challenging activities, including high ropes, the flying fox, giant swing, canoeing, and more.

The weather was amazing, and we’re sure they made plenty of wonderful memories!

We are incredibly proud to have had our School Captains represent our school at the Traralgon ANZAC Ceremony.

They conducted themselves with respect, dignity, and maturity, and were outstanding ambassadors for our school community.

Events such as these are deeply significant, helping to shape our collective understanding of service, sacrifice, and national identity. We are grateful for the opportunity for our students to be involved in such an important community tradition.

Our grade 5/6 campers are on their way home and are expected to arrive back at school by 1:15pm.
Students must be collected by parents or other approved adults upon arrival from the school.

What a great first week back for our fabulous Kossie Kids. It was good to hear all about what they did during the holidays too. It was also great to finish the week with a special dress up day.
At assembly on Friday we were able to celebrate some of many students who have done an awesome job settling back in and demonstrating one of our Kossie values.
