Stage 4 students have begun their new Technology mandatory topic, “More Than Just a Sandwich.” This unit looks at the fundamentals of healthy eating, food preparation skills, and the cultural significance of different types of meals. Throughout the topic, students will develop their understanding of nutrition, food safety, and creative cooking techniques.

Last week marked an exciting milestone as students participated in their first practical lesson, where they cooked homemade hamburgers. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply food
preparation skills, such as hygiene practices, measuring ingredients accurately, and cooking to the correct temperature. It was great to see their enthusiasm and teamwork in action as they created tasty hamburgers from scratch.

Thank you Stage 4 and to Mrs Brewer. We look forward to seeing the students’ continued progress in the weeks ahead!
