First Holy Communion for St Joseph’s students
Last Saturday evening, students from our school celebrated their First Holy Communion. This is a significant moment for them, their families and our faith-filled school community. We congratulate these children as they continue their faith journey.

Science lessons 'step into' Spring!
Students enjoyed a nature walk in their school grounds today looking for signs of Spring. They used their IPads to capture images of birds feeding and nesting and new growth including blossoms, leaves and plenty of grass. Once inside, they selected an image to write about, ready for publishing.

🇮🇹🍝 Learning with a taste of Italy! 🇮🇹

Our Grade 6 students have been learning all about Italy and brought their learning to life in the best way possible — by making Italian food from scratch! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

They made their own pasta and pizza, getting hands-on with the process from start to finish. 🍕🍝

What a delizioso way to learn! 😋🇮🇹

📚 Book Week 2026: Symphony of Stories 🎶
What a wonderful day celebrating Book Week! 🌟 Thank you to our families for supporting the event and helping students create such amazing costumes.
Students loved showcasing their creativity in the parade, and our judges were impressed by everyone’s enthusiasm. Congratulations to Grade 3/4, who took out the winning class award for their fantastic participation and positive energy! 🎉
A big thank you also to our dedicated staff for making days like this so special. We are grateful for our amazing school community! 😊📖✨

Mini Vinnies Fundraiser Success! 💚🌭

Friday, 7 August, our Mini Vinnies team fired up the BBQ for a sausage sizzle fundraiser — and what a success it was!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we raised just over $250 for the Mary MacKillop Foundation! 🙌

A huge shout-out to our Mini Vinnies students for getting stuck in and helping make the day such a success. We’re so proud of the way they are putting their faith into action and making a difference in our community. 💚

A special thank you to our wonderful Learning Support Officers who helped our Mini Vinnies students throughout the day and supported them to make the fundraiser such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you! 👏💚

The day also gave us the opportunity to come together and celebrate the feast day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first saint. ✝️

Japanese Day at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School
What a wonderful celebration of Japanese culture! Students came dressed in Japanese-themed outfits or in red and white, the colours of the Japanese flag, ready for a day full of fun and learning. Throughout the day, children rotated through a range of exciting activities including Japanese cooking, a Japanese-themed Kahoot quiz, dancing, blossom painting, origami, calligraphy, and making sumo sock puppets. We finished the day by learning a brand-new Japanese dance together on the asphalt.

It was an amazing day filled with creativity, laughter, and cultural learning. A huge thank you to Taylor Sensei and our dedicated Year 6 leaders for organising such a fantastic event. You did a wonderful job, and we all had the best day!

This week, our school community joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Under the leadership of our Year 6 Religious Education leader, Zeke Garratt, and with the support of fellow Year 6 leaders, students took part in a special and memorable activity.

Pancake stations were set up where students created their own “Sacred Heart Pancakes.” Using strawberries to represent the heart, orange pieces for the flame, chocolate slivers for the crown of thorns, and a small chocolate cross, each pancake became a meaningful symbol of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was a wonderful way to bring faith to life in a creative and engaging manner. We are sure this special celebration will remain a lasting memory for all involved.
