👏Congratulations to JCU: College of Science and Engineering Geoscience Lecturer and WOMEESA President Dr Melanie Finch, who has been selected as one of the outstanding early career researchers to receive a 2023 Queensland Young Tall Poppy Science Award.

An initiative of the Australian Institute of Policy and Science, the Young Tall Poppy Science Awards aim to recognise excellence in research as well as enthusiasm for communicating science beyond the walls of the laboratory.

The Awards are widely considered to be an early indicator of Australia’s future scientific leaders, identifying excellent early career scientists.

Dr Finch will now attend an award ceremony in Brisbane on October 18, where the Queensland Young Tall Poppy of the Year will be announced.
