Scissor cutting in early childhood is a founational milestone that significantly accelerates a chid's fine motor development, coordination and school readiness. It helps build hand strength when opening and closing the blades, it teaches each finger to move independently and prepares for handwriting as the grip is similar to that of the tripod pencil grasp. The children in the Kindergarten room enjoyed the activity and were all concentrating hard at the task.
