Hi families, good evening! 🌟

We have such a busy and exciting week ahead at Goodstart Early Learning Centre Douglas.

To kick off the week, tomorrow, Monday 24 August, we will be celebrating Book Week! 📚✨

This year’s theme is “Symphony of Stories”, and we would love to see the children come dressed as their favourite character from a book or story. We can’t wait to see all of the wonderful costumes and enjoy a fun-filled day celebrating our love of books, stories and imagination.

Then, on Thursday 27 August, we will be recognising Red Nose Day ❤️

Red Nose Day is such an important day, and we would love for the children to join us in showing their support by wearing a splash of red. This could be a red T-shirt, red pants, a red ribbon, red shoes, or even just a small red accessory.

We are looking forward to a wonderful week of celebration, learning and fun with all of our children and families! 💛

🌟 Celebrating 10 Incredible Years with Goodstart – Thank You, Miss Sarah! 🌟

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate a very special milestone as Miss Sarah marks 10 wonderful years with Goodstart Early Learning.

Over the past decade, Miss Sarah has made an extraordinary contribution to our centre and to the lives of so many children, families and fellow educators. Her dedication, kindness and genuine passion for early childhood education can be seen in everything she does.

Miss Sarah brings warmth, care and positivity into our centre each day. She has a beautiful ability to help children feel safe, valued and supported while encouraging them to explore, learn and grow with confidence. Through her nurturing relationships, thoughtful interactions and commitment to each child’s individual needs, she has created countless meaningful moments and lasting memories.

For our families, Miss Sarah has been a trusted and reassuring presence. She takes the time to listen, communicate and build genuine partnerships, helping families feel welcomed, respected and connected to their child’s learning journey. Her compassion and understanding have supported many families through important milestones, transitions and everyday moments.

Miss Sarah is also a deeply valued member of our educator team. She generously shares her knowledge, experience and encouragement with those around her. Whether she is offering guidance, lending a helping hand, sharing a laugh or quietly supporting someone through a challenging day, her contribution strengthens our entire centre community.

Ten years in early childhood education represents thousands of welcomes, comforting cuddles, learning experiences, conversations, celebrations and moments of encouragement. It represents the many children Miss Sarah has supported as they discovered who they are and what they are capable of. Her impact cannot simply be measured in years—it can be seen in the confidence of the children she has nurtured, the trust of the families she has supported and the admiration of the educators who have worked beside her.

Miss Sarah, thank you for the incredible dedication, joy and care you bring to our centre. Thank you for always placing children at the heart of what you do and for helping create an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Congratulations on 10 remarkable years with Goodstart. This is an amazing achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated with great pride. We are so grateful to have you as part of our community and look forward to the many more wonderful memories, relationships and learning experiences still to come.

👖 Jeans for Genes Day is here! 💙

On Thursday the 6th of August we're celebrating Jeans for Genes Day, and we invite all children and educators to show their support by wearing their favourite denim. Whether it's jeans, a denim jacket, a skirt, shorts, or even a blue bow or accessory, every little bit helps us come together for this special day.

We can't wait to see everyone's denim-inspired outfits and celebrate together. Thank you for helping us support such an important cause! 💙

We have had so much to celebrate recently at Goodstart Douglas, with the beautiful Miss Mel celebrating her birthday, the wonderful Miss Jasmin celebrating her birthday, and an extra special milestone — Miss Jasmin reaching 5 amazing years with Goodstart. 💛

These moments are such a lovely reminder of the incredible people who make our centre feel so warm, caring and connected each day. Miss Mel and Miss Jasmin bring so much kindness, joy and dedication to our children, families and team, and we are so lucky to celebrate them.

Miss Jasmin, congratulations on 5 wonderful years of making a difference. Your commitment, love and care have touched so many little lives, and we are so grateful for everything you bring to our Goodstart family.

🕶️ National Sunglasses Day – Friday 26th June 🕶️

This Friday, we are inviting all children and educators at Goodstart Early Learning Centre Douglas to wear their favourite shades for National Sunglasses Day!

Whether they are bright, colourful, silly or stylish, we cannot wait to see everyone rocking their sunnies! 🌞

Please remember to pack your child’s favourite pair of sunglasses on Friday.

🚒🔥 Thank a First Responder Day at Goodstart Douglas! 🔥🚒
Today our little learners stepped into the boots of brave firefighters as they worked together to put out a pretend bushfire in our outdoor learning space. Armed with spray bottles and plenty of enthusiasm, the children practised teamwork, communication and learned about the important role first responders play in keeping our community safe.
Hands-on experiences like these spark curiosity, build confidence and help children connect with the world around them—all while having lots of fun! ❤️👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Today, we would like to take a moment to wish one of our incredible educators, Miss Sarah, a very happy birthday. 💐

Miss Sarah has been a valued and important part of the Goodstart Douglas team for an amazing nine years. During this time, she has brought so much care, kindness, patience and dedication to the children and families within our centre.

Her natural ability to nurture, support and connect with the children is just one of the many reasons she is such a special member of our team. We are incredibly grateful for the warmth, talent and commitment she brings to our learning environment each day.

Today is a special day as we celebrate Miss Belinda 🎉
Belinda is an absolute powerhouse and such an amazing part of our centre community. While you might see her spending time in our nursery space, she’s also constantly working behind the scenes as an assistant director, supporting staff, and helping everything run smoothly throughout the day.

We truly appreciate everything you do, Belinda your dedication, care, and leadership make a real difference to our team and our children every single day.
