Riverview Play Centre is working to be Townsville's most flexible Child Care Centre, where families, childcare and education go hand in hand.

We aim to provide 'take-a-break' care for parents of children aged birth through to 5 years. Riverview Play Centre is an occasional day care centre and we are licensed by the Office of Early Childhood Education and Care. Riverview is licensed for 38 children a day, 5 days a week, 48 week of the year, under the Child Care Act 2002 and the Child Care Regulations of 2003. Our three groups of children

🕷️DEADLY AUSTRALIANS🐍

The kindergarten children had a visit with Marc Dorse from Deadly Australians today.

This informative presentation was aimed at helping children become more aware of the venomous creatures we have living in our backyards and what to do if we see them.

The children also experienced getting up close with a blue-tongued lizard and a turtle.

😎Optical2you Visit😎

Our Kindy children had a visit from the optometrist this morning to test their eyes. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the children to have their eye exam in a familiar environment, convenient for busy families to have testing done without cutting into family time and if there are any issues they can be picked up before the children head off to big school, ensuring the best possible start to their schooling.

Cultural diversity is something we are very proud of at Uniting Early Learning Riverview

Today Ms Sheetal set up the Kindy yard with lots of resources to help the children celebrate Hariyali Teej Indian Festival. In the Northern parts of India this festival celebrates the beginning of the monsoon and where Ms Gurmeet is from Teej celebrates women, families and togetherness.

Making genuine connections within our local community is something we are very proud of.

Today we had the opportunity to set up an information stall at the Kirwan State High School Career Expo. Not only did we connect with some fabulous young people who are considering a career in Early Childhood Education and Care, we were able to share our experiences within the sector and network with other professionals attending the Expo.

🏆Celebrating Achievements 🏆

We are so proud to recognise the achievements of our team and today we are acknowledging that Ms Sohyun has been with Uniting Early Learning for 8 years.

Soso, as she is affectionately know as by children, families and educators, is an amazing member of our team, who always has the learning and interest of the children at the centre of everything she does as an educator.

Congratulations Soso, enjoy the day and the cake 💥

Our Nursery and Junior Kindy children were enjoying some play dough fun this morning.

In the Nursery the children were exploring the many different textures provided by some different objects found in nature.

The Junior Kindy children were exploring their fine motor skills with scissors and tongs while also engaging in conversation about the animals that were added to the table
