What a beautiful morning to be on the College Oval for the Prep - Year 1 Field Day! 🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍➡️

🧩 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 🧩
Our Year 9 Christian Living class recently explored the topic of biblical friendship, discussing what it means to be a good friend, how we should treat others both in their presence and absence, and the positive qualities that build strong, Christ-centred relationships.

Students reflected on how each person brings their own unique gifts and strengths to God's bigger picture. To represent this, they coloured individual puzzle pieces and combined them to create a beautiful display featuring Romans 12:10 "Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves."

What a wonderful reminder that we all have an important place in God's family, and that together we can encourage, support, and strengthen one another. 💙✨

𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻🤠🌾
Last term our College hosted a wonderful evening of fun, fellowship, and ACC spirit at our annual Bush Dance!

From lively dances and laughter to great food and a sea of colourful glowsticks shimmering across the oval, it was a joy to see our students, families, and staff of all ages celebrating this fantastic annual event.

A heartfelt thank you to our P&F, staff and student volunteers for this special event and to our amazing community for making the Bush Dance continue to be such a success. Your enthusiasm, support and encouragement help to make our College such a special place.

We are grateful for opportunities like these to celebrate our community, strengthen friendships, and enjoy God's blessings together.

On Tuesday our secondary students showed outstanding house spirit, resilience and team work at their Athletics Carnival, and beautifully reflected Christ-like character in the way they encouraged one another, competed with integrity and celebrated each other's achievements.

Congratulations to one of our outstanding Year 12 students who has achieved 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in two university units completed through the 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶 𝗡𝗼𝘄 (𝗦𝗨𝗡) program.

Reflecting on the experience, she shared:

We were thrilled to welcome Olympic athlete 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗼 to our College yesterday as part of the 𝘖𝘭𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘜𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 program, the perfect way to celebrate Olympic Day! This wonderful initiative brings Olympians, Paralympians, and QAS athletes into Queensland schools to inspire and motivate young Australians.
Our Year 4–6 students had the incredible opportunity to hear from Alex, a four-time Winter Olympian in the sport of luge. Born and raised right here in Townsville, Alex shared his inspiring journey, encouraging students to be mindful, build resilience, and pursue their goals with determination.
What a memorable experience for our students to learn from such a remarkable athlete - we’re so grateful for the opportunity!

What a fantastic day at the Townsville Sports Precinct for our Primary Athletics Carnival last week! Students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, determination, teamwork and house spirit throughout the day.

From sprint races and field events to cheering on friends and celebrating personal achievements, it was wonderful to see our students embracing every opportunity and encouraging one another along the way.

Congratulations to Newton House, who claimed the overall championship title for the carnival! 🏆❤️

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 🌟
On 30th May, the Queensland Chinese Speech Competition was held online, attracting a record number of entries from 28 schools across the state.

In the Year 7-8 division, participants were required to deliver a one-minute speech incorporating at leave five of twelve compulsory grammar structures. Topics included everyday themes such as self-introduction, family, preferences, hobbies, food, and beverages, allowing students to showcase both language accuracy and creativity.

We are delighted to share that one of our Year 7 students achieved an outstanding result, placing 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the strong field of competitors from many of our state's leading schools.
Even more impressively, our student was the only top placegetter representing a regional city.
