🎓 2027 SENIOR JERSEYS – ORDERS NOW OPEN! 🎓

Our future Class of 2027 Seniors who have met the eligibility requirements are now invited to order their Senior Jersey! The Senior Jersey is a special tradition at Northern Beaches SHS and a symbol of pride, commitment and achievement as our students prepare for their final year of schooling.

To be eligible to purchase a jersey, students must:
✅ Maintain at least 90% attendance
✅ Be on track to achieve their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
✅ Have all current school fees paid
✅ Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)

👕 Jersey Cost: $88.00

Completed order forms and full payment must be returned to the school office by Wednesday 9 September 2026. See Mrs Eade in GOLD for sizing or any queries.

🎭 A week of Shakespeare, wellbeing and performance!

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Mashed Theatre & Films , who delivered an incredible five performances across two days for our senior English students studying Shakespeare, as well as a powerful wellbeing performance for our Year 8 students.

Our Senior Drama and iXL Performing Arts students also had the opportunity to get involved in a hands-on theatre workshop, developing their performance skills and learning from industry professionals.

A fantastic week of live theatre, learning and creativity! 👏🎭

There’s plenty happening throughout the week, with daily library challenges, prizes to be won, our teacher dress-up parade and a special Meet the Author visit from Melissa Previtera! 🌟

🏫 HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE DAYS | NORTH SHORE STATE SCHOOL

Last week we welcomed Year 5 students from North Shore State School to Northern Beaches for another action-packed High School Experience Day! 💙💚

Students had the opportunity to experience just some of what high school has to offer — getting active with our Brumbies Sports Program, putting their problem-solving skills to the test with some hands-on STEM challenges, and getting creative in our Art Rooms with clay sculpture. 🏃‍♀️🚀🎨

It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity throughout the day!

A big thank you to the North Shore students and staff for visiting us. We loved having you on campus and look forward to welcoming you back to Northern Beaches in the future! 🌊

🌏 Volunteering in Action | Making a Global Difference 💛

Yesterday, our Certificate I in Volunteering students began a very special three-week project in partnership with the ZONTA Club Townsville.

Together, they will assemble more than 200 Clean Birth Kits for the Birthing Kit Foundation Australia. These simple kits help provide women and babies in under-resourced communities around the world with access to a cleaner and safer birth.

The first job was underway yesterday, with students carefully folding the plastic sheets that form part of each kit. Over the coming weeks, they’ll add the remaining essential items before the completed kits are packed and ready to begin their journey to women and babies in need.

What a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience volunteering with purpose and see how a few hours of their time can contribute to something much bigger. ❤️

A huge thank you to Beth, Liz and ZONTA Club Townsville for working alongside our students and sharing this important project with us.🌏

🏉 NQ ALL SCHOOLS TEAM TAKES TO THE FIELD 🔥

A big shout-out to our Northern Beaches All Schools Touch Team, who will proudly represent our school this weekend at the NQ All Schools Touch Carnival at Greenwood Park, Thuringowa!

This weekend is an important part of the build-up for this talented team, who will travel to the Gold Coast next term to represent Northern Beaches State High School at the QLD All Schools Touch Football Championships – for the second year in a row! 💙❤️💛

🌟 QLD All Schools is the world’s largest annual school touch football tournament, bringing together hundreds of teams from across Australia and internationally. It’s an incredible opportunity for our students to compete on a huge stage and represent Northern Beaches with pride.

As we celebrate National Science Week, we’re giving a special shout-out to our amazing Science Technicians Michelle & Siobhan who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support our Science Department.

From preparing experiments and resources to keeping our labs organised, safe and ready for learning, their knowledge, skills and attention to detail help bring Science to life for our students every day.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our very own Mr Joel Ottaway, who has been recognised by the Herald Sun as one of Australia’s Best Teachers! 👏🏆

Joel’s recognition highlights the innovative work he is doing through the Queensland Virtual Academy (QVA), teaching Aerospace Systems from Northern Beaches State High School to students across Queensland, with some students more than 1000km away! ✈️🛰️

Through technology, expertise and a genuine passion for his specialist subject, Joel is showing that distance doesn’t need to be a barrier to accessing high-quality learning opportunities. His work allows him to remain part of the Northern Beaches community he loves while sharing his knowledge and expertise with students well beyond our school gates.
