The Tec-NQ team participated in the Cheapa Auto Spares Sprint Series in Calcium over the weekend.

Light Vehicle Mechanical Facilitator Phil Wilcox hosted a few hot laps for the public in Tec-NQ’s Excel track car which despite it being a little 1.5l engine, created some big smiles. Phil got a track PB, coming second in class for the event. The Excel ran like a champion, finishing the day with naught but a small blow out on the exhaust.

Over forty cars participated over the weekend travelling from as far as Cairns and Mackay. It was a great weekend for motorsports enthusiasts to test, tune and run their vehicles out on the 2.7km circuit.

Looking ahead, new rims have arrived just in time for the track cars to go on display for the Tec-NQ Open Day on Saturday, the 22nd of August.

A huge congratulations to Kayne on signing up for a full-time Electrical Apprenticeship with Riley and the team at North Air Electrical!

This is an exciting milestone and the beginning of an incredible career in the electrical industry. We can't wait to see Kayne develop his skills, gain valuable experience, and grow into a qualified tradesperson.

It's also a special moment to see the cycle come full circle. Riley completed his own apprenticeship training through Tec-NQ, and now he's giving the next generation the same opportunity by welcoming Kayne to the team at North Air Electrical.

Thank you to Riley and everyone at North Air Electrical for investing in the future of our industry and supporting young people as they begin their trade careers.

Our Mackay team had a fantastic day at the Mackay Careers Expo on Thursday!

It was great to see such a strong turnout, with so many students stopping by to learn more about the opportunities available through Tec-NQ. From senior schooling and trade training to apprenticeships and career pathways, we enjoyed chatting with the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our stand and to the organisers for putting together another fantastic event. We loved connecting with so many enthusiastic students and helping them explore their future career options.
