Some people may have noticed that McDonald’s have replaced toys for McHappy Books again for the next six weeks.

The Happy Reader books have been launched in partnership with AUSPELD, the Australian Federation of SPELD associations, which provides essential support to children and adults with learning difficulties.

Each book has reading tips from AUSPELD on the backcover.

We hope families that receive one of these books take the time to explore the stories and activities together.

8 different Wimpy Kids titles are available.

If you don’t go to Maccas, perhaps you could go to your local library and borrow a Wimpy Kid book and take the time to explore the adventures in each book.

If you child struggles to read we encourage you to contact your local SPELD to seek help. The AUSPELD website has links to SPELDs in Australia. http://auspeld.org.au/

This year is a very special year, as SPELDs in each state celebrate their 50th birthday. SPELD NSW is in their 51st year and this year moved into exciting new premises.
