This afternoon we have the Marc from Deadly Australian's revisiting the service. Show starts at 4pm on the Green Patch. 🐍🦎🐢
An after school care booking are essential for children to attend.
The "Deadly Australians" is a public awareness programme, educating students about the dangers of the venomous wildlife that inhabit our suburban backyards, bush, beaches and sea. The programme uses both live and preserved exhibits with visual aids, posters and maps. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with lizards and non-venomous snakes.
Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend the "Deadly Australians" presentation.

OSHC Movie Night - Final Details
Hello families!
Thank you so much to everyone who responded to our OSHC Movie Night poll and RSVP! Our poll officially closed on Monday 17 August, and we are excited to announce that our winning movie is Minions vs Monsters!
We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to this event and are so excited to share such a special night with our OSHC community!
RSVPs and voting are now closed. Thank you to everyone who responded. The numbers received through the RSVP are what we will be using to plan our catering for the evening.
Due to the fantastic number of families attending, our Movie Night will now be held on the Hermit Park State School oval.
Movie Night Details
Date: Friday 28 August
Gates open: 6:00pm
Food & drinks: 6:00pm–6:30pm
Housekeeping & welcome: 6:30pm
Movie begins: 6:45pm
Families will be able to enter through the McKimmin Street OSHC gates and the Sussex Street gates.
What to Bring
Movie Night is BYO picnic blanket and/or chairs. To make sure everyone can see the screen, we kindly ask that chairs are set up towards the back of the viewing area, with picnic blankets towards the front.
OSHC will be providing:
• Popcorn
• Maltesers
• Sausage sizzle
• Soft drinks
These will be provided at one per person. Families are also very welcome to bring along their own food, snacks and drinks.
Please remember that this is a drug and alcohol-free event.
Parent/Guardian Supervision
As this event is being held outside of OSHC's licensed operating hours, OSHC educators will not be responsible for supervising children during the event.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision of their child/ren at all times and must remain with them throughout the evening.
The playground and all other school/OSHC areas will be out of bounds during the event. Children will not be able to access or play on the playground the Movie Night and oval area will be the only areas available to families.
Keeping Our Space Clean
Bins will be located around the event area. We kindly ask that everyone helps us look after our school and OSHC environment by placing all rubbish in the bins provided and taking any belongings with you when you leave.

Our team recently took part in an amazing PD session with Bri from Phoenix Support for Educators.
We explored critical reflection, meaningful reflective practice, and learned more about the Phoenix Cups Theory. It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to learn, reflect, and grow together.

Hello OSHC Families!!

One of our Educators, Jamie will be participating in the Townsville to Cairns bike ride on the 23-25th of July.

Jamie will be cycling 374km across 3 days to help find a cure for childhood cancer.
Every week, 20 children in Australia are diagnosed with cancer. Children's Cancer Institute is the only independent medical research institute in Australia solely dedicated to cure childhood cancer.

We’re one week away from our annual Beats N’ Eats breakfast! 🎶🥞☕️
Beats N’ Eats is a shared breakfast hosted by Hermit Park OSHC on Wednesday 17th June from 6:30am – 8:30am. We would love to see all of our OSHC community come together for a fun and relaxed morning.

We’ll have a wide variety of breakfast foods available including:
• Bacon & egg muffins
• Pancakes
• Croissants
• Assorted muffins
• Fresh fruit salad

There will also be games, music, and plenty of opportunities for families to connect with educators and other members of our OSHC community.
The event is completely free and fully funded by HPOSHC (excluding purchases from the coffee van). A coffee van will also be available on the morning for families wishing to purchase tea, coffee, or hot chocolates.
If your child, or any family member attending, has any dietary requirements or allergies, please let the service know prior to the event so we can cater to your needs.
All OSHC families are welcome to attend. Please note, children without an OSHC booking will require parent/carer supervision throughout the event, including being escorted safely to their classroom.
