Goodstart Burnda Street’s Book Week Parade 📚
Our Book Week Parade was a hit this morning!
Each room had the opportunity to march along the pathway and show off their beautiful and creative costumes to the centre. We loved seeing all the imagination, excitement and smiles! 🥰

We then enjoyed one another’s company with a fun-filled dance party to celebrate together.
What a wonderful way to celebrate Book Week! ❤️📖

Early Childhood Educators’ Day is coming!✨💛

On Wednesday 2nd September, Goodstart Burnda Street will be celebrating Early Childhood Educators’ Day, and we would love for you to join us in celebrating our wonderful educators and team! 🌟

We have displayed a range of envelopes with each educator’s name, as well as one for the centre. 💌
We invite our families and children to collect a piece of paper and a pen from the foyer, located on the hallway table, and write a special message, thought or note to celebrate your favourite educator or share a lovely message with our amazing team.

Whether it’s a few kind words, a favourite memory or simply a little “thank you”, your messages will mean so much to our educators and help make this special day even more meaningful.

Thank you to all of our wonderful families for your ongoing support and for trusting us with your precious children every day. We feel so grateful to be part of their learning, growth and journey! 🌈

We can’t wait to celebrate together!

What a fun and exciting week we had exploring Science Week!

The children absolutely thrived as they had opportunities to problem-solve, process, plan, predict and discover while learning about science in so many exciting ways! 💡👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

Across a range of experiences and environments, the children explored:
🌈 Colourful milk
🫧 Colourful oobleck
💧 Mixing colourful water
🧊 Fizzy ice cubes
🧲 Magnetic wands and balls
⚓ Sink or float experiments
✨ Runaway glitter

It was wonderful to watch the children’s curiosity come alive as they experimented, asked questions, made predictions and discovered new things through hands-on learning.

Science Week was full of wonder, exploration, problem-solving and lots of exciting discoveries! 🌟🧪

Continuing our Kindergarten colour exploration!

The children were offered a variety of colourful textas and pens to draw their favourite things to do at Kindergarten. 🖍️💛

This experience gave the children an opportunity to express their ideas, interests and voices through their artwork. It also allowed us to make meaningful connections and gain an insight into the experiences they enjoy most and look forward to!

We love seeing their unique ideas come to life and being able to proudly display their voices throughout our learning environment. 🌟🌈

Our Kindergarten children have been busy exploring and learning all about colours! 🎨✨

The children even went on their very own colour hunt adventure! Using paint cards from our local Bunnings, each child was encouraged to choose a colour card and then explore their surroundings to find an item or object that matched their colours.

They did an amazing job! It was wonderful to see how confidently the children could identify and match colours while exploring their environment. 🌈🔍

We are so proud of our little colour explorers!👏

Today our children came together to celebrate Daffodil Day by exploring all things yellow! 🌻✨

The children engaged in a fun, hands-on experience filled with yellow materials, textures and creative possibilities, using their imaginations to create their very own open-ended daffodils.

It was beautiful to see the children exploring, experimenting and expressing their creativity in their own unique ways! Through open-ended experiences, children are encouraged to make their own choices, develop their creativity and enjoy the process of learning through play.

A wonderful day of yellow, creativity, connection and learning! 🌼

DO WE LOVE SCIENCE WEEK?!

Toddler Two are having SO much fun exploring, experimenting and discovering during Science Week! 🧪💫

Today, the children engaged in a fun glitter and soap experiment! Educators asked, “What do we think will happen when I dip my finger in soap and then into the glitter?”

The children excitedly predicted, “It’s going to run away!” Other children agreed, so educators demonstrated the experiment and the children were absolutely amazed! 😍

Through hands-on experiences like this, the children are developing their curiosity, making predictions, observing changes and learning that science can be SO much fun! 🧠🔍

Kindergarten Two has been exploring different ways to tell stories, including using pictures as a tool for storytelling. Through this experience, children are encouraged to transfer and adapt what they have learned from one context to another, using their imagination, language, and understanding to create their own narratives.

Last week, Miss Tegan sat individually with each child and invited them to look closely at a series of pictures featuring a caterpillar. The children were encouraged to share what they could see, make connections between the pictures, and use their own ideas and experiences to create a story.

Each child interpreted the pictures in their own unique way, demonstrating creativity, imagination, developing language, and confidence in expressing their ideas. Together, we have collected pieces of their stories to share their different perspectives and ways of making meaning from the same set of pictures.

This week, our children have been enthusiastically participating in a variety of engaging experiences to build their knowledge and understanding of dental health and the importance of caring for their teeth.

Throughout the week, they have been busy brushing the "germs" off teeth, stepping into the role of a dentist by exploring dental tools and caring for patients, reading stories about visiting the dentist, and discovering the healthy foods that help keep our teeth and bodies strong.

These hands-on learning experiences encourage positive oral hygiene habits, build confidence around dental visits, and support children's understanding of how healthy choices contribute to their overall wellbeing.

We are so proud of the curiosity, enthusiasm, and creativity our children have shown as they learned valuable lifelong skills in caring for their smiles! 😁🪥🍎
