Last week, TIES students visited the Escape Academy in Townsville City. An escape room is a real life, themed, puzzle-solving adventure game. Students had to use their English communication skills to co-operate and solve puzzles to accomplish tasks and escape the rooms. What a great way for students to practice their English!

Recently, TIES students went on an excursion to the Army Museum in Townsville. The morning was filled with lots of learning and plenty of engaging activities. The class finished the day with lunch at a local fish and chips shop.

We just had a lovely visit and catch-up with Kiichi from Japan. Kiichi studied English at TIES with a pathway to James Cook University. Kiichi has recently graduated with a Diploma of Higher Education (Science) and will now continue his studies in Marine Biology. Congratulations Kiichi on your achievement and good luck with your new course.

The weather was good so we celebrated Australia Day with a BBQ down the Strand beach. Kit cooked his breakfast special and the students enjoyed bacon and egg burgers.
