-The Future of the Great Barrier Reef-
Join us for a Reef Talk with Professor David Bourne, a marine microbiologist holding a joint position at JCU and AIMS! π
Despite repeated mass bleaching events, parts of the Great Barrier Reef show surprising signs of recovery β revealing a complex balance between disturbance and resilience.
In this talk, Prof Bourne will explore the future of the Great Barrier Reef, from the drivers behind reef decline to emerging interventions such as coral aquaculture, assisted evolution, and large-scale restoration needed to help reefs endure a warming climate.
